Discover career opportunities with our CHRISTIAN EDITORIAL department in our CHILDREN’S division.

WHO WE ARE:

Our dedicated team of publishing professionals is committed to helping authors realize their very best work and to finding innovative new ways of bringing stories and ideas to audiences worldwide. Find your story in our books!

Random House Christian Publishing: WaterBrook

In editorial, when a book proposal is received, the editor decides whether or not to pursue it for acquisition. An editor works with the author to turn the manuscript into a finished book. They negotiate contracts, edit the books for content, structure and on a line-by-line basis, and collaborate with internal departments on how to package, market, and publicize the book. Editors need to know what’s trending, what can sell to which target market, and what fits with their particular imprint.

This is an amazing opportunity to work with renowned Christian, faith-based children’s titles published by the WaterBrook imprint under Random House Children’s Books. Our authors include Carole Boston Weatherford, Lori Z. Scott, Marianne Hering, Tina Cho, Tasha Jun, Sarah Nunnally, Carolyn Leiloglou, Emily Bain Murphy, Valerie Ellis, Kris Tarantino and many others.

Some responsibilities may include:

• Evaluating submissions and writing reader’s reports for faith forward and general market children’s books across board books to YA titles

• Learning editorial admin tasks

• Attend virtual editorial meetings, provide insights based on your own reading and in response to editors' submissions.
