Cobalt Service Partners Overview

Cobalt is a private equity-backed company aiming to build the most impactful business in the commercial access and security industry (access control systems, video surveillance systems, intrusion detection systems and other low voltage systems integration). Cobalt is backed by Alpine Investors, a private equity firm specializing in middle market companies in the services and software industries and with $15bn+ of AUM. Cobalt's Co-CEOs (Tyler Hoffman and Anthony Gonzalez) are experienced investors and operators. In just two and a half years, Cobalt has successfully acquired 23 partner companies and established itself as one of the leading platforms in a highly attractive and fragmented industry that is benefitting from substantial secular growth tailwinds.

Position Overview

Cobalt is building a modern, standardized operating platform across its security integration partner companies. The Implementation Lead is the hands-on member of an implementation team that brings each partner company onto Cobalt's core business systems. The role works on site with partner company teams, leads training, owns the details and keeps vendors on track.

The Lead works through every phase of a rollout: discovery, configuration, user demos and training, testing, go-live preparation and adoption support. The work spans several partner companies at once and puts the Lead alongside people at every level, from field technicians to company leadership.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience implementing complex business systems simultaneously (ERP, field service management, CRM and/or HRIS/payroll) from discovery through go-live and hypercare
• Experience running fast-paced or concurrent implementations (i.e., not just one, long single project)
• Personally designed, configured, and documented system standards - including workflows, SOPs, reports, data fields, and permissions
• Personally designed and led end-user demos, testing, and training for new users, and collected & implemented feedback along the way
• Prepared systems and data for go-live, including data validation, cutover planning, and cross-vendor coordination
• Fluent in financial and operational metrics and analysis, including cross-tool processes like procure-to-pay and quote-to-cash
• Managed vendor deliverables and follow-ups to deadline
• Willing to travel extensively and work on site with partner company teams
• Experience in field services, systems integration or private equity-backed companies is a plus

Personal Attributes

• Extreme ownership & urgency - doesn't need to be asked twice; keeps a fast pace; drives forward independently
• Detail oriented - gets into the details of system configuration, workflow design, and troubleshooting. Catches issues before they become problems
• Highly structured - solves problems with structure, analysis, and brings answers - not just issues
• Skilled translator - acts as the translator between multiple parties - third-party vendors, internal functional teams (e.g., finance, HR), and Partner Company teams - explaining things clearly and simply
• Fast & curious learner - learns new systems fast and teaches themselves
• Patient teacher - stays calm and patient when users struggle with change.
