We are designing the experiences that power Amazon's worldwide delivery network-enabling the delivery of billions of packages to customers in record speeds, and providing for a safe, efficient, and rewarding work experience for millions of people. The impact here is palpable. Every Amazon package you see on every doorstep - you are part of that. The systems you design touch every mile of the journey, from the moment an order leaves a fulfillment center to the moment it arrives at a customer's door. You will see your impact in the real world, every single day. Our design team sits at the intersection of complex operational systems and human-centered thinking - making the invisible infrastructure that moves everything work better for everyone. You are joining a team with a unified vision. Every designer here contributes to the same mission: building world-class experiences that make Amazon's delivery network safer, faster, and more rewarding for the people who power it. Key job responsibilities Our team is looking for high-performing design leaders to drive both big-picture vision and fast-paced execution, delivering near-term results while exploring future opportunities. This Product Design role focuses on helping transporters navigate and safely deliver packages for our customers, providing clarity on where they they need to go, what they need to do, and the best way to get there. Success requires close collaboration with cartographers, engineers, and product managers. Many of our projects extend beyond digital interfaces, connecting with real-world physical processes. We work hands-on in our design and prototyping studio, deeply understanding customer needs and creating experiences that aim to meet them in the moments that matter most. A day in the life As a designer on the Last Mile Experience Design team, you will own your work end-to-end, from managing your UX backlog to developing, testing, and sharing design strategies. You’ll tackle complex design challenges with creative solutions and collaborate closely with product leaders, cartographers, and engineering teams to create robust experiences that help drivers navigate their routes safely, clearly, and efficiently. Strong collaboration and facilitation skills are essential to bring clarity and drive alignment across teams. You’ll be expected to uphold high design standards, continuously improve how we work, and advocate for quality user experiences. With customer needs at the forefront, you’ll use sound judgment, stay informed about our users, competitors, and industry trends, and contribute to delivering best-in-class navigation solutions. About the team We lead with vision and follow a flexible design process, adapting our approach to fit the needs of the moment. We invent through collaborative brainstorming, prototype and simulate experiences with real customers, and share our vision across teams and leadership. We scale empathy for our users to partners and leaders, ensuring our tech teams have what they need to build great products. Equally important, we prioritize a healthy work-life balance. While we are a team of high achievers, we recognize that sustainable performance requires realistic scoping and mindful workload management. We know innovation suffers when designers are stretched too thin or working unsustainable hours (many of us have families, too). Though we may put in extra effort to polish a critical project, we strive to minimize thrash, accurately scope work, and maintain a healthy, balanced work week for every person on the team.
