About the Team

Home Instead’s Owned & Operated (O&O) business is where we build, test, and refine the future of home care. Our markets combine world-class operations, innovative technology, and compassionate service—and the lessons we learn help elevate care across the broader Home Instead network.

About the Role

As Senior Manager, Market Growth & Operations, you will run and grow a Home Instead market. You will own its P&L, growth strategy, day-to-day performance, and local team—acting as both the business leader and the person who makes progress happen.

This is a highly hands-on, field-based role. You will personally build referral relationships, generate new business, lead the local operation, and solve problems as they arise. You will lead a multidisciplinary frontline team, help build the local talent bench, and set a high bar for performance, accountability, and client experience.

Your work will directly shape business results: growth, client engagement and retention, Care Professional retention, and quality. You will have the data and operating context to understand what is driving those outcomes—from P&L and territory analytics to referral strategy, workforce planning, and recruiting performance—and the ownership to act on what you find.

You will work in a lean, fast-moving environment with meaningful ownership and high visibility. Your market will be a proving ground for new approaches to care delivery and operations; you will test ideas in the field, refine repeatable playbooks, and feed what you learn back to Honor’s broader O&O business.

This is one of Honor’s most execution-intensive leadership roles. High performers will build the operating range and business judgment needed for broader multi-territory, regional, or cross-functional leadership opportunities.

Most importantly, this role sits at the intersection of business performance and meaningful human impact. You will lead a team that helps older adults remain safe, supported, and independent at home.

This role is hybrid, based in Bernalillo County with 75%+ of your time spent in the field developing the market and driving new business. Compensation includes base salary plus uncapped commission, with expected annual OTE of $182,700–$203,000.

If successful, you will:

• Deliver sustainable growth in hours, revenue, and client retention.
• Build a strong, self-generated referral pipeline and improve conversion through start of care.
• Run a reliable, high-quality local operation.
• Develop an accountable, capable territory team.
• Improve how Honor operates by turning market insight and data into better playbooks.

You will do this by:

• Owning the territory P&L, priorities, and business performance.
• Personally driving local business development: building healthcare and community partnerships, generating referrals, and owning the sales cycle from lead generation through conversion.
• Leading day-to-day operations across client service, scheduling, and care delivery, with a focus on client experience and execution quality.
• Managing and developing the local team, setting a high bar for ownership, performance, and accountability.
• Using data and firsthand market knowledge to diagnose problems, prioritize action, and improve results.
• Building the operating rhythms, reporting, and playbooks that make strong performance repeatable.

What you’ll bring:

Experience

• 7+ years of experience building and scaling operations, with direct ownership of frontline teams or service delivery.
• Experience succeeding in an ambiguous, early-stage, or 0-to-10 environment—where growth requires experimentation, sound judgment, persistence, and a willingness to build without an existing playbook.
• Experience managing people to measurable business results.
• Ability to spend four to five days per week in the field.

Competencies

• Operational Horsepower & Execution: Thrives in a fast-changing environment, personally driving a high volume of work with organization and discipline. Solves problems hands-on in the moment, then builds scalable solutions.
• Data Orientation & mindset: Uses data, dashboards and root-cause analysis to diagnose performance gaps and prioritize actions. Will do the math to understand the impact of potential actions.
• People Leadership (Player-Coach): Leads frontline teams through coaching, accountability, and hands-on support—driving high performance through clarity, consistency, and modeling the work.
• Mission & Motivation Fit: Genuine motivation for Honor’s mission and serving older adults; demonstrates resilience, empathy, and commitment to people-first care

Leadership Principles

Honor’s Leadership Principles are the foundation of translating our mission into action. These principles define how we show up and make decisions, and how we hire, develop and grow talent. While Honor has 13 leadership principles, the following are particularly relevant to this role:

• Own the Outcome: Leaders are accountable for inputs and outcomes. They follow through end-to-end, marshaling the right resources, escalating when appropriate, but never treating delegation as abdication. They treat expanding scope as expanding obligation, not expanding distance from the details.
• Identify Problems: Leaders have a keen sense that an identifiable problem is present. They identify it, determine the root cause and propose a solution. Leaders ensure solutions are implemented and partner as necessary.
• Fly High & Dive Deep: Leaders operate at all levels. They know when to stay connected to the details to enable execution and when to stay high level and empower others. Leaders audit when data and anecdotes differ.
• Are Brutally Honest with Themselves: Leaders are self-aware. They are able to assess their strengths and weaknesses and objectively evaluate their performance, decisions, and behaviors. They are constantly evaluating whether their favored approach to solving a problem is indeed still the right one or whether new information suggests a new course.
