Associate Veterinarian
CityVet Capitol Hill | Denver, Colorado
Good medicine starts with a good team.
If you’re looking for a practice where you can grow your skills, work alongside people who genuinely care about one another, and have the freedom to practice medicine with confidence, you might have just found your next home.
Led by Dr. Heather Newett, CityVet Capitol Hill is a collaborative, energetic team in the heart of Denver. We’re a hybrid GP and Urgent care hospital, which means no two days look exactly the same and that’s part of what makes this team so much fun.
We have a diverse, close-knit support team, and we’re looking for another veterinarian who brings curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to jump in alongside their teammates.
A little bit of everything. A lot of opportunity.
About 50% of our caseload is urgent care, while the remainder includes primary care, wellness, dentistry, surgery, and everything in between. We accommodate same-day procedures and drop-offs and adjust our schedule specifically for walk-ins and drop-off cases.
Our DVMs typically see 12–15 patients per day, with 30-minute appointments and dedicated surgery days. On surgery days, you can expect approximately 4–6 procedures, giving you the opportunity to build and strengthen your surgical skills without sacrificing the rest of your caseload.
We have:
- 7 exam rooms, including a designated cat room
- A large, centrally located treatment area
- Spacious surgery suite
- Private dog and cat wards
- Dedicated isolation ward
- Digital dental radiography, Ultrasound, Cautery, Therapeutic laser, Zoetis analyzers, Imagyst and in house cPL.
- Access to MOVES specialists in cardiology, surgery, and oncology
We also offer 15-minute technician appointments and have the flexibility to accommodate the unexpected, which, as every veterinarian knows, is inevitable.
Experience is welcome. Curiosity matters more.
Dr. Newett and the team are open to a variety of backgrounds and experience levels.
If you're an experienced veterinarian who wants a collaborative practice with a diverse caseload, you'll find plenty of room to make an impact here.
If you're a new graduate looking for a team that will genuinely invest in you, we'd love to meet you, too.
Dr. Newett is excited to mentor a new graduate who is eager to develop their clinical and surgical skills. You'll have the opportunity to ask questions, learn alongside experienced teammates, and gradually build confidence while still having the autonomy to become the veterinarian you want to be.
Our team is wonderfully diverse, and we value the different perspectives, personalities, and experiences everyone brings to the hospital. A veterinarian who can appreciate those differences and bring a little grit and good humor to the day will fit right in.
Come practice medicine in the heart of Denver.
CityVet Capitol Hill puts you right in the middle of one of Denver's most vibrant neighborhoods, with the city at your doorstep and a team that wants you to succeed.
Whether you're an experienced DVM ready for a new challenge or a new graduate looking for a place to build your foundation, we'd love to start a conversation.
Come meet Dr. Newett and see what Capitol Hill could look like for you.
