About the Team

Topps Digital, part of Fanatics Collectibles, creates premium digital collectible experiences across some of the world's most recognizable sports and entertainment brands. Our Game Art team creates the art, animation, and visual effects that bring our digital collectibles to life.

About the Role

We're looking for a Unity Game Artist to join our Game Art team.

You'll partner with Product Managers, UI/UX Designers, Engineers, and QA, bringing a creative and technical perspective to feature decisions. You'll transform concepts, 2D and 3D artwork, and Figma designs into polished, production-ready features in Unity.

You'll build features ranging from card reveals and pack openings to UI animation and visual effects. As a member of the team, you'll raise the creative and technical bar, lead feature implementation, and drive improvements to our production workflows.

What You'll Do

• Lead feature implementation by identifying blockers, coordinating across disciplines, and communicating risks early
• Provide creative and technical input, identifying opportunities to improve designs, animation, visual effects, and implementation
• Set and maintain the creative and technical quality bar for the Game Art team
• Mentor fellow Game Artists through feedback, reviews, and day-to-day collaboration
• Implement approved designs in Unity while collaborating throughout development
• Create and implement polished 2D and 3D assets, animation, visual effects, and interactive UI
• Build and maintain Unity prefabs, Timelines, shaders, particle systems, and reusable UI components
• Build reusable Unity systems that can scale across multiple apps
• Optimize assets and visual effects for mobile performance and quality
• Own art implementation through development, QA, and live releases
• Drive improvements to Game Art documentation, tooling, and production workflows
• Champion the use of AI and automation

What We're Looking For:

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience creating and implementing 2D and 3D assets for shipped mobile games or other interactive applications
• Strong understanding of Unity UI, Animation, Timeline, Prefabs, Particle Systems, and production workflows
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, After Effects) and 3D content creation tools such as Blender or Maya
• Strong artistic fundamentals, including animation, motion, composition, lighting, and visual storytelling
• Ability to create polished UI animation and visual effects
• Knowledge of optimization techniques for mobile performance
• Strong collaboration skills in a fast-paced, cross-functional development environment
• Demonstrated ability to mentor artists and lead feature implementation
• Strong attention to detail with excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Working knowledge of Git and Jira

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Figma and design systems
• Experience creating custom shaders
• Background improving art pipelines and development workflows
• Familiarity with C# scripting in Unity to support implementation and collaboration with engineers is a plus

How We Work

Game Art works closely with UI/UX Designers, Product Managers, Engineers, and QA throughout development. We believe the best work comes from early collaboration, frequent iteration, and shared ownership. We're continually improving our pipeline, driving automation and AI to streamline development and give artists more time to focus on creativity and polish.

Why You'll Love Working Here

• Work on world-class sports and entertainment brands
• Collaborate with a passionate, multidisciplinary team
• Help shape the future of digital collectibles
• Competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for growth
