Company Description

Lead a respected hospital. Build something that's yours. Live where the Masters comes to town.

St. Francis Animal Hospital in Augusta, Georgia is looking for an experienced Medical Director Veterinarian to lead our medical team and help shape the next chapter of the practice. This is more than a job: equity and partnership opportunities are available for the right leader who wants a real stake in the hospital they help grow.

About the Role

As Medical Director, you'll set the clinical tone for a well-established hospital with a loyal client base and a reputation for compassionate, personalized care in the CSRA.

• Lead and mentor our veterinarians and medical team, and set the standard for clinical excellence
• Shape medical protocols, quality of care, and the patient experience
• Partner with the hospital's leadership on growth, culture, and long-term strategy
• Keep a hands-on clinical schedule, because the best leaders still love practicing medicine
• Equity and partnership available for the right candidate, with a clear path to ownership
• Competitive compensation, relocation assistance, and a full benefits package
• Full-service care, including wellness, dental, surgery, urgent care, and telemedicine services
• A balanced schedule, with a hospital that is not a 24-hour facility, so no overnight emergency shifts

Why Augusta?

Augusta is famous around the world for one weekend each April, but locals know it's a great place to live all year.

• Home of the Masters. Augusta National Golf Club puts this city on the global stage every spring, and the local golf scene is excellent all year.
• A real river city. Founded in 1736 on the Savannah River, Augusta is Georgia's second-largest city. The multilevel Riverwalk runs along the water with gardens, fountains, an amphitheater, and downtown dining just steps away.
• Paddle, bike, and hike. The historic Augusta Canal National Heritage Area, built in 1845, offers boat tours and trails, while the Savannah River and Savannah Rapids are great for kayaking and paddleboarding. Phinizy Swamp Nature Park adds even more trails.
• Lake days close to home. Lake Strom Thurmond (Clarks Hill) is one of the largest man-made lakes east of the Mississippi, a short drive away for boating, fishing, and weekend getaways.
• Culture that surprises people. Catch the Symphony Orchestra Augusta, see a show at the Imperial Theatre, visit the Morris Museum of Art, or walk the Augusta Sculpture Trail's 15+ sculptures downtown. Augusta is also the hometown of James Brown, and his statue and memorabilia are part of the city's identity.
• Minor league baseball and festivals. Cheer on the Augusta GreenJackets, or cross the 5th Street Freedom Pedestrian Bridge to North Augusta for shopping, dining, and more riverfront.
• Southern charm without the big-city price tag. Housing and everyday costs are generally more approachable than in larger metros, which makes it a strong place to put down roots.
• Well connected. Charleston, Savannah, and Atlanta are all within a few hours' drive, and Augusta has its own regional airport.
