Job Description

Fortune Brands is building a company that is determined to win, and the repair and remodel market is a significant opportunity to grow our Outdoors business and leading brands including Therma-Tru, Larson and Fiberon decking.

As Business Development Manager, Repair and Remodel, you will focus on a specialized segment of dealers and partners who take building products directly to the homeowner, often through an in-home selling model. These businesses sell windows, doors, siding, roofing, decking and other exterior building products. Understanding how they generate leads, how they sell in the home, and how they deliver the complete homeowner experience will be critical to your success.

You will become an integral part of your customers' businesses, serving as the connector between our specialty dealers, distributors, sales teams and internal resources. You will help partners grow through product knowledge, training, business support, and access to the right people across Fortune Brands.

This is a highly visible, relationship-driven role for someone who understands the repair and remodel channel, knows how specialty dealers operate, and can turn strong partnerships into measurable growth. How we win here is not complicated. Execute every day. Be accountable. Do what needs to be done.

POSITION LOCATION: This is a remote, field-based position Preference will be given to candidates located in or near Washington, DC/Philadelphia corridor, Florida, or the Carolinas.

TRAVEL: Approximately 70 percent, primarily driving within the assigned market. Mileage reimbursement and a company expense card are provided.

What You'll Do

• Develop and execute a market strategy focused on growing Fortune Brands Outdoors products within the repair and remodel specialty dealer channel.
• Build strong relationships with specialty dealers and partners that sell building products directly to homeowners, including organizations using in-home and showroom-based selling models, and develop new dealer relationships while expanding business with existing partners.
• Serve as a trusted business partner and primary connector for customers, helping them navigate Fortune Brands resources, products, programs, distribution and internal teams.
• Partner closely with dealers, distributors and internal sales teams to identify growth opportunities, remove barriers, and expand product adoption and market share.
• Develop a deep understanding of each customer's business model, sales process, market and growth strategy, to find the places where Fortune Brands can add real value.
• Deliver product education, sales training and ongoing support so dealer partners can confidently position and sell our products to homeowners.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration between customers, distributors, territory sales teams, product teams, marketing and other internal partners.
• Maintain a strong presence in the market through regular customer visits, field engagement, and participation in relevant dealer and industry events.
• Track opportunities, customer activity and business performance, and own the growth number for your assigned market.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of sales, business development, or account management experience within building products, home improvement, repair and remodel, or a related industry.
• Direct experience with in-home selling, specialty dealers, home improvement contractors, or businesses that sell building products directly to homeowners, including a strong understanding of how those dealers generate leads, sell, install and service products in the residential repair and remodel market.
• Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with business owners, sales leaders, dealer partners, distributors and other channel stakeholders.
• Experience delivering product education, sales training, or other customer-facing support that helps partners grow their business.
• The ability to act as a liaison and facilitator across multiple stakeholders, connecting customers with the right resources and driving issues through to resolution.
• Strong business acumen, including the ability to understand how your customers make money and where mutual growth is available.
• The ability to independently manage a large geographic territory with significant field travel.
• Valid State Driver's License.
