*To qualify for the $1,000 First Client Bonus, therapists must be licensed in California and see their first client within 30 days of submitting their application. Therapists licensed in other eligible states who meet the same 30-day requirement may qualify for a $500 First Client Bonus. The use of the word “bonus” refers to an incentive provided to independent contractors. It does not imply an employment relationship nor entitle any independent contractors to employee benefits.

Please note: BetterHelp currently requires an independent clinical license. Interns and clinicians who require supervision to provide therapy are not eligible at this time. Substance abuse counselors, school counselors, registered nurses, career counselors, Christian counselors, and business coaches are not eligible unless they also hold an eligible independent mental health license.
