OVERVIEW

As the Global Retail Sr. Instructional Designer, you'll own the design and production of the digital courses, videos, and graphics that bring alo's people, product, selling, and operational knowledge to life for our global store teams. Reporting to the Director of Retail Learning, you'll partner cross-functionally with Operations, Customer Experience, Human Resources, Marketing, etc. to turn business priorities into training that's clear, accurate, and unmistakably on-brand.

This is a senior, hands-on individual contributor role for someone who is passionate about making jobs easier for frontline teams, can get up to speed quickly on alo's store operations and processes, write and design fluently in the alo voice, and build high-quality learning content independently with minimal oversight. The role doesn't carry people-management responsibility today but is expected to grow into one as the retail learning function scales.

• Own and evolve a standardized template and style framework that keeps branding, tone, and the alo voice consistent across all training materials
• Manage the global training curriculum calendar to gatekeep training workload for store teams and to execute in support of peak business periods across the year
• Run projects end-to-end — from stakeholder intake through launch to results reporting — largely independently

Communication & Brand Voice

• Translate product launches and operational updates into engaging, on-brand communications — video, infographics, interactive modules — for a global store audience
• Partner with the Retail Communications team to create strong change management plans and communications that work in harmony with our learning approach
• Use platform analytics and field feedback to measure content effectiveness and continuously refine the approach

LMS Administration

• Maintain and optimize alo's LMS in partnership with the Retail Communications Manager, ensuring content is current, well-categorized, and easy to find
• Monitor completion and engagement metrics to inform content strategy and prioritization

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Education, Instructional Design, or a related field
• 5+ years of instructional design experience, including significant tenure in a corporate role supporting a global retail organization
• Demonstrated expertise building courses in Articulate Rise and publishing directly to an LMS
• An instinctive knack for leveraging AI to improve process efficiency, quickly create content, and enhance the learning journey
• Ability to quickly learn unfamiliar store operations and processes and translate them into clear, actionable training
• Strong storytelling and editing skills, with proficiency in video editing and graphic design tools (Adobe Premiere Pro, InDesign, Photoshop)
• Proven ability to write and design in a distinct brand voice and apply brand guidelines consistently across formats
• Solid grounding in instructional design models, learning theory, and curriculum design
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong project management, and comfort collaborating across functions
