AWS ships over 280 services and more than 50 off-console applications. Every one carries a full surface area — APIs, SDK, CLI, console, documentation, infrastructure-as-code support, identity integration, logging, monitoring, pricing, and regional availability. Producing and maintaining these interfaces consumes enormous engineering capacity, and the quality customers experience is uneven. Managed Interfaces changes the model: when customer needs change, AWS responds in weeks, not months. Every interface a customer touches is generated from one source of truth — the service's API model — and stays consistent as the service evolves. Builders launch new services with near-zero effort on undifferentiated engineering, and user testing starts at the beginning of a project, when changes are cheap. You will own the program management for this effort, coordinating three workstreams: agentic capabilities for builders, the managed console experience, and the agents that keep documentation and downstream channels current. This is a cross-organizational role that turns a multi-year north star into shippable, measurable proof points. Key job responsibilities Drive the program end-to-end. Own the roadmap, milestones, and dependencies across all three workstreams, translating the 2027 north star into quarterly deliverables and committed proof points. Coordinate across teams. Align the UX platform, launch orchestration, console generation, the context layer, and 200+ service teams whose consoles move to the managed path. Resolve cross-team dependencies and sequencing conflicts before they become blockers. Manage the proof-point scoreboard. Define, track, and report the metrics that demonstrate progress: services registered to the context layer, consoles converted to managed, undifferentiated effort reduced per feature, automated quality improvements shipped per month, task-completion times, and accessibility violations trending to zero. Communicate up and across. Produce clear status, risk, and decision documents for senior leadership; run operational reviews; and keep stakeholders aligned on scope, trade-offs, and timelines. Manage risk. Surface technical and organizational risks early — adoption friction, capability gaps for off-console applications, source-of-truth consistency — and drive mitigation. A day in the life A single integrated roadmap across the three workstreams with clear ownership and dependencies. A live scoreboard tracking the committed proof points, reviewed on a regular operating cadence. The first managed-console conversions in production, moving from one prototype toward a repeatable path. An adoption plan for moving the standard console path to managed by default, with onboarding support for service teams.
