Remote
Conifers is transforming security operations centers (SOCs) with CognitiveSOC™, its AI SOC platform, enabling enterprises and MSSPs to achieve SOC excellence.
By leveraging agentic AI, Conifers helps security teams investigate complex, multi-tier incidents with speed, accuracy, and trust.
Led by seasoned cybersecurity leaders and backed by SYN Ventures, PICUS Capital, and others, the company brings deep industry knowledge and innovation to an increasingly AI-driven threat landscape.
We’re building an AI-native security platform that enables autonomous agents to investigate real-world threats at a massive scale.
About The Role :
Security teams need answers they can trust. Getting there takes an understanding of the environment, evidence from across the security stack, and sound judgment about what to do next.
At Conifers, we’re building CognitiveSOC to help security teams apply AI across their operations, connect institutional knowledge with technical evidence, and make faster, better-informed decisions while retaining control. Our work builds on the tools and workflows customers already use.
We’re looking for a Sales Engineer who understands how security operations work and enjoys helping customers solve practical problems. You’ll own the technical sales cycle, from discovery and demonstrations through evaluation, technical validation, and the decision to move forward.
You may have built your foundation in a SOC, an MDR provider, security implementation, or technical account management before moving into presales. You may already be a cybersecurity SE with strong operational experience. What matters is your ability to combine technical depth, customer judgment, and clear communication.
What You’ll Do :
- Own technical discovery to understand the customer’s security environment, operational challenges, stakeholders, and decision criteria.
- Partner with Account Executives to build an evaluation plan and maintain technical momentum throughout the sales cycle.
- Deliver tailored demonstrations that connect Conifers’ capabilities to the customer’s workflows and priorities.
- Lead proofs of value with clear scope, measurable success criteria, timelines, and responsibilities.
- Guide integrations and troubleshoot permissions, APIs, data availability, and configuration issues during evaluations.
- Review investigation results with analysts and security leaders, explaining the evidence, conclusions, and remaining gaps.
- Turn evaluation findings into a clear technical and business case, addressing objections and communicating results to decision-makers.
- Coordinate technical questionnaires and security reviews, bringing in internal specialists when needed.
- Provide actionable customer feedback to Product and Engineering, and improve reusable demos, guides, and evaluation materials.
- Maintain trusted technical relationships after the sale, working with the teams responsible for onboarding and support.
What You’ll Need :
- A background combining hands-on cybersecurity work with customer-facing technical responsibility. This will often represent 4 or more years of relevant experience.
- Experience leading customer demonstrations, technical workshops, or proofs of concept, with clear examples of your ownership and results.
- Practical understanding of alert triage, investigation, escalation, and incident response.
- Hands-on depth in at least one major SIEM, EDR/XDR, SOAR, or comparable security platform, and the ability to learn unfamiliar tools.
- Comfort troubleshooting REST APIs, JSON, authentication, permissions, and data flow.
- The ability to explain technical findings clearly to practitioners, SOC managers, and business stakeholders.
- Good judgment about what evidence supports a conclusion, where uncertainty remains, and when to involve a specialist.
- The discipline to manage customer commitments, document decisions, and keep multiple evaluations moving.
- Curiosity about AI and a practical interest in applying it responsibly to security operations.
Experience that would help :
- Working in an MSSP or MDR environment.
- Moving from security operations, implementation, or technical account management into presales.
- Writing Python, PowerShell, or Bash scripts.
- Building security automation, integrations, or technical demonstrations.
- Using AI tools to improve technical work and validating their output.
If this role resonates with you and you’re excited about shaping how modern SOCs really work, this is your opportunity to join Conifers and build something that truly matters 🚀.
Our Commitment:
We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
