ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a Social Video Creator / Editor who can turn raw footage, livestreams and half-formed ideas into videos and carousels people actually want to watch. You know what works on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube Shorts; you can spot the good moment in a long recording, find an angle, write a strong hook and edit the piece yourself. You enjoy fostering a community on social media and potentially might even be open to playing a role in front of the camera, too. You’ll work across several clients including eBay, with plenty of room to also help shape new formats and pitches. There’s a few exciting things in the pipeline.

This role is part of our Creative team that consists of Concept & Social Creatives, Art Directors, Copywriters, Graphic and Motion Designers as well as Social Media Managers who in one way or another, you will work collaboratively with. You’ll report to the Creative Directors.

DEPT® is a Growth Invention company built to help the world’s most ambitious brands grow faster. Operating at the intersection of technology and marketing, our 4,000+ specialists deliver growth invention services across Brand & Media, Experience, Commerce, CRM, and Technology & Data. We’re 50|50 tech and marketing, partner-led, and first to move. Clients include Google, Lufthansa, Meta, eBay, and OpenAI. We have been certified B Corp and Climate Neutral since 2021. We deliver end to end data driven campaigns which foster both creativity and performance. Our specialty is creative, digital communications that drive performance, boost brand awareness, and shift market share for our clients. Our team in Germany is the only agency that combines technology, creativity and data to really make our clients grow.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Find the story and make the content

• Turn raw footage, livestreams and loose briefs into finished social videos, from selecting the strongest moments and finding the angle to writing the hook and editing the final cut.
• Edit videos yourself for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts, shaping the pacing, captions, sound and visuals for each platform.
• Create social-first carousels and other assets, working with designers and motion specialists when a piece needs their expertise.

Bring ideas to the table

• Spot trends, audience conversations and moments worth turning into content, then develop ideas and formats that make sense for each client.
• Help shape content for ongoing accounts, campaigns and pitches, and move quickly when an unplanned opportunity comes up.
• Write sharp German copy, from on-screen text and scripts to captions and community replies.

Make it happen together

• Collaborate with creatives, social media managers and production teams on shoots, content plans and publishing.
• Work alongside production teams to produce social content (TikTok, Reels, Photos, …)
• Oversee post production of short form video
• Help keep conversations with the community going and use what you learn from the audience to make the next piece stronger.
• If you’re comfortable with it, occasionally step in front of the camera yourself.

WHAT YOU BRING:

• A portfolio of social videos you’ve conceived and edited yourself. We care more about the work than the number of years on your CV.
• Strong hands-on editing skills in Premiere Pro or a comparable professional tool beyond capcut templates. You know how to use pacing, sound, subtitles and graphics to make a video work
• A genuine feel for TikTok, Instagram and YouTube Shorts: you understand the platforms, their communities and why people stop scrolling.
• The confidence/patience to sift through raw material, find stories and make creative decisions
• Strong German writing skills, from a sharp on-screen hook to a caption or community reply. You have to be comfortable collaborating in English, too.
• Curiosity, good instincts and an agile way of working. You enjoy sharing ideas, trying things out and making them better with feedback.
• Nice to have: After Effects or motion design skills, experience with community management, and an interest in filming or occasionally appearing on camera.

If you are passionate about social media and have the expertise to drive engagement for our clients, we want to hear from you. We’re here with the vibes, the dogs, the fun productions, etc. What’s still missing? You!
