Roll up your sleeves and get to work in our Construction Materials Testing Lab. This is a hands-on, physically active role where you will be handling, mixing, breaking, and testing real construction materials like concrete, soil, asphalt, and masonry every day. If you enjoy working with your hands, solving practical problems, and seeing tangible results from your work, this is the job for you.
Candidates will be responsible for performing laboratory tests related to Concrete, Soil, Asphalt, Masonry, and other construction materials in accordance with applicable testing standards/methods.
What You'll Do
- Get hands-on with soils and construction materials — mixing, molding, curing, and physically testing samples using standardized lab methods.
- Operate and work directly with lab testing equipment (compression machines, sieves, molds, ovens, and more).
- Lift, carry, and move materials and samples as part of daily testing routines.
- Record and report test results accurately, following ASTM and other industry standards.
- Keep the lab running smoothly — cleaning, organizing, and maintaining equipment and workspaces.
- Calibrate and verify lab equipment to ensure testing accuracy.
- Pitch in on field/construction materials testing support when needed.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager.
Qualifications
- A genuine interest in working with construction materials in a physical, lab-based environment.
- Willingness to learn technical testing skills; full training provided. You'll be expected to earn your ACI Concrete Lab Testing Certification within 6 months.
- Solid basic math skills.
- Physical capability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral, to log and report findings clearly.
