About the role:

This is a full-time, in-office role at our Amsterdam HQ, with an annual allowance of 30 work-from-anywhere days.

Creative Fabrica is building a new generation of AI products, and video will be one of the main ways we show people what those products can do. We're building an in-house creative team that supports educational content, product launches, social channels, campaigns and partnerships - and we expect to produce a significant amount of video across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and other channels, with a production process that is fast, flexible and increasingly scalable.

As our Video Editor, you will be responsible for turning raw footage, screen recordings, product demonstrations and creative concepts into engaging finished content. You'll work closely with our Educational Content Producer, Motion Designers, Graphic Designer, Product Marketing and channel owners, editing everything from educational YouTube videos and product demos to short-form social content, launch videos and campaign assets. Great editing here is not only about polish - it's about making people stop, watch and keep watching.

This is a high-output role. We want someone who can move quickly, make strong editorial decisions independently and continuously improve the production workflow - comfortable producing multiple pieces of content each week and turning one strong source asset into many different pieces. AI should be a natural part of how you work: we expect you to actively explore AI-powered editing, generation and production tools that help us create better content, experiment faster and significantly increase our output.

What you will do:

• Edit across every channel - produce video for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, product launches, educational content, campaigns and partnerships
• Turn raw material into finished content - transform footage, screen recordings, voiceovers and product demonstrations into engaging, polished videos
• Master both long-form and short-form - understand the different pacing, structure and storytelling each requires, and adapt content for different platforms, formats, audiences and aspect ratios
• Hook and hold attention - create strong openings that quickly communicate why someone should keep watching, and use pacing, cuts, sound, music, captions and graphics to maintain attention throughout
• Produce a high volume of quality video - ship multiple pieces of content each week while maintaining strong editorial and visual standards, and repurpose long-form content into short-form clips and channel-specific assets
• Test and iterate - create multiple versions of content to test different hooks, openings, lengths and editing approaches, using watch time and retention data to understand where viewers lose interest
• Collaborate across the creative team - turn scripts and recordings into compelling educational videos with the Educational Content Producer, incorporate motion graphics and product visuals from our designers, and support Product Marketing on launches
• Push AI-powered production - use generative AI and AI-powered editing tools to improve production speed and explore new creative possibilities
• Build a scalable workflow - create templates, presets and repeatable production processes that increase output without sacrificing quality, staying current with video formats, creator trends and AI video

What you will need:

• 2+ years of editing experience - in video editing, content production or a similar role, with a strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality digital video content
• Strong software proficiency - Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro or equivalent professional editing software, plus a solid grasp of sound design, music, captions and basic visual effects
• Retention-first editorial instincts - a strong understanding of pacing, storytelling and audience attention; you're obsessed with retention, not just making videos look beautiful
• Range across formats - experience editing both short-form and long-form content, comfortable with screen recordings, product demonstrations, talking-head footage and voiceovers, and familiar with platform-specific requirements for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and other channels
• Independent decision-making - able to take raw material and determine how to turn it into an engaging finished video, without detailed editing instructions for every cut
• High production velocity - comfortable creating multiple edits and variations quickly, shipping frequently while maintaining a strong quality bar, and managing multiple videos at different stages of production
• AI curiosity - familiarity with AI-powered video and editing tools and genuine excitement about incorporating them into your workflow. Good written and spoken English

Nice to have:

• Proven performance content - experience editing high-performing YouTube or short-form social content, or working with creators and creator-led brands
• Advanced AI workflows - deep experience with AI video generation and AI-assisted editing
• Adjacent craft skills - motion design (particularly After Effects), colour grading, or advanced sound design
• Data-driven editing - using audience-retention analytics to improve edits, understanding how thumbnails and titles interact with the video, or building scalable editing templates and repurposing workflows
