About the Role

Forter seeks a highly skilled, motivated Senior Full-Stack Engineer II to join the Customer Experience Offerings (CXO) team. This team delivers and scales Forter's core offerings and agentic experiences, creating smart automation for customers to confidently understand, configure, and optimize their journey.

Part of the Customer Experience group, this high-impact, hands-on role involves working across the full application stack - backend (Node.js, TypeScript), frontend (React, Next.js) and data pipelines. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in fullstack development, large-scale data stores, data models, and high-throughput infrastructure. As a Senior II, you will be a technical leader within the CXO team: owning complex initiatives end-to-end, raising the architectural and quality bar within your domain, mentoring peers, and partnering with cross teams to drive real customer impact. We're investing heavily in Agentic AI and you'll be a central force in shaping how we build it.

If you thrive on technical ownership, have a track record of setting the quality and architecture bar for a team, and are energized by building experiences that bring real value to customers - we'd love to meet you.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Act as the go-to technical expert across one or more core areas of the CXO platform, setting the standard for code quality, maintainability, and architecture for the team.
• Drive technical decision-making on complex, mission-critical systems. Lead design reviews for large-scale initiatives and contribute to all major architectural decisions within your domain.
• Own and deliver large, cross-system initiatives, handling open-ended problems with ambiguity. Define key success metrics and measure project impact post-delivery.
• Proactively identify and drive improvements to system costs, scale, and operational stability.
• Proactively engage with customers to understand their needs, document pain points and suggestions, and drive improvements that benefit multiple teams.
• Improve team processes: identify gaps in documentation, design/code review practices, and onboarding; propose and lead adoption of improvements.
• Think like a product owner: proactively identify opportunities to improve the customer experience from quality-of-life improvements to impactful new capabilities and bring them to the roadmap.

Who Are You?

• 7+ years of experience as a software engineer, with deep expertise in full-stack development, including strong command of modern backend technologies (Node.js, TypeScript) and frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Next.js).
• Demonstrated track record as a go-to technical expert: you have led complex multi-system initiatives, set architectural standards, and influenced technical direction across teams.
• Experience building customer-facing products and working closely with product managers and customer facing stakeholders. You think instinctively about user impact - not just technical correctness.
• Hands-on production experience operating data systems at high scale - billions of records.
• You are comfortable working with Redis, Kafka, SQS, Elasticsearch, MySQL, and Snowflake. You know how to design efficient data-access layers, work with sharded and partitioned systems, optimize schema and query performance under load, and build reliable ingestion and transformation pipelines.
• Strong familiarity with cloud-native environments. AWS experience is a significant advantage.
• Experience building products or workflows powered by LLMs or Agentic AI.
• Experience enabling and mentoring engineers on your team.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills. You can discuss architecture with engineers, align on roadmap with product managers, and explain tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience using modern AI development tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar to accelerate development and improve quality.
• Proven ability to self-manage, work autonomously, and drive projects forward without heavy oversight.

It Would be Really Cool if you Also Have:

• • Deep experience with designing or maintaining high-scale data pipelines, including streaming, batching, or real-time enrichment workflows.
  • Experience with micro-services or micro-frontend ecosystem architectures.
  • Experience leading workshops, sharing knowledge internally, or driving community practices.
  • Experience participating meaningfully in recruiting - crafting interview questions, conducting technical interviews, and contributing to hiring decisions.

About Us:

Commerce is evolving faster than the systems built to support it. Agentic AI is redrawing how people buy. Customer expectations have a new ceiling. And bad actors are evolving alongside every advancement.

Forter was built to meet this moment — and stay ahead of it.

We are a human-first, AI-built company. Our technology analyzes patterns across a network of over 2 billion shoppers, delivering identity intelligence across the entire commerce journey — from sign-up to checkout to returns — that protects revenue and unlocks great customer experiences simultaneously. With Forter, businesses know who to trust, whether it’s humans or the agents shopping for them. The result: zero friction for the customers who matter. No revenue left behind.

The world's most trusted brands — Nordstrom, Instacart, Priceline, Adobe, ASOS, and eBay among them — rely on Forter to get this right. Since 2013, we've raised $525M from investors including Tiger Global, Bessemer, Sequoia Capital, and Salesforce Ventures, and today we power commerce decisions for nearly 1 million businesses globally. We're more than fraud, payments and orchestration – we make trust a competitive advantage.

Trust is backed by data – Forter is a recipient of over 10 workplace and innovation awards, including:

• Great Place to Work Certification (2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025)
• Fortune’s Best Workplaces in NYC (2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025)
• Forbes Cloud 100 (2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025)
• Anti-Fraud Solution of the Year at the Payments Awards (2024)

Life as a Forterian:

Forterians are, genuinely, some of the best people you'll work with. Smart, curious, and deeply good humans who care about the work and each other. That's not an accident — it's something we've been intentional about since day one, and it's the thing people mention most when they talk about why they stay. When you're surrounded by people like this, doing work that actually matters, it changes what a job can feel like.

Forter was built on a simple but powerful conviction: when AI does its job, humans can do theirs better. That philosophy shapes our products and shapes how we work. AI is core to our workflows — not as a shortcut, but as a force multiplier that gives Forterians the space to focus their energy where human judgment is irreplaceable.

We're a global team of 500+ people, with regional headquarters in New York, Tel Aviv, London, and Singapore, and employee presence across the US, Canada, Germany, France, Japan, China, and Australia. Our teams are cross-functional by design, and the work you do here is visible, consequential, and connected to the outcomes that matter.

You'll have real ownership here and proximity to decisions. And we back that with investment in your growth — RSU offerings, L&D programs built around AI tools, and a culture of recognition rooted in our 4.5 day weeks (aka Forter’s Appreciation Fridays and Sundays). From team outings to local cultural celebrations, we mark the moments that matter — wherever you are in the world. We don't want Forter to be just another job. We want it to be the place you build.

If you're ready to work on a problem that sits at the intersection of AI, commerce, and human trust, this is it.
