About EarnIn
As one of the first pioneers of earned wage access, our passion at EarnIn is building products that deliver real-time financial flexibility for those with the unique needs of living paycheck to paycheck. Our community members access their earnings as they earn them, with options to spend, save, and grow their money without mandatory fees, interest rates, or credit checks.
We’re fortunate to have an incredibly experienced leadership team, combined with world-class funding partners like A16Z, Matrix Partners, DST, Ribbit Capital, and a very healthy core business with a tremendous runway. We’re growing fast and are excited to continue bringing world-class talent onboard to help shape the next chapter of our growth journey.
- Drive the design and implementation of new features. Break down complex problems to their essentials, translate that complexity into elegant design, and write high-quality, maintainable code.
- Own the health of the services you build: participate in the team’s on-call rotation, respond to alerts and incidents, and drive them through resolution and blameless postmortems.
- Use AI tools in your daily workflow, from design and coding to testing, debugging, and incident response, and help raise the bar for how our team uses AI while staying accountable for the quality and safety of what ships.
- Improve reliability and observability by building monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and runbooks that help us detect and resolve issues before our community feels them.
- Debug production issues across our services infrastructure and multiple levels of our stack.
- Design and deliver robust microservice integrations via REST/gRPC APIs and messaging patterns (events/queues).
- Create and maintain test automation to enable continuous integration and development velocity.
- Collaborate with and mentor other engineers through code, design, and architecture reviews, including coaching teammates on operational readiness.
- Work cross-functionally with data science, design, product, finance, accounting, and analytics.
- Work with distributed systems and care passionately about producing high-quality code.
- Make a meaningful impact on the lives of our community members.
- Proven experience supporting live, production services, including participating in an on-call rotation and responding to incidents under pressure.
- 4+ years of delivering value through software in a collaborative environment.
- Experience working in microservice architectures is required.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Datadog) and a track record of improving service reliability, such as better alerting, faster recovery, or fewer repeat incidents.
- Hands-on experience using AI coding and productivity tools in your day-to-day engineering work, with good judgment about when to trust their output and when to verify it.
- Proficient in at least one modern programming language and able to understand more than one; we currently work in C#.
- Hands-on experience working with SQL databases.
- Experience with continuous integration and delivery tools.
- Experienced in developing and executing functional and integration tests.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including clear communication during incidents.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience with financial systems, payments, or ledgers, where correctness and auditability are a plus
