Join AutoProff – Lead the Future of Automotive Technology! 🚀

At AutoProff, we're transforming the way vehicles are traded across Europe through technology. Every day, thousands of vehicles are bought and sold on our platform, and we're constantly building new solutions to create an even better experience for our customers and colleagues.

We're looking for a Tech Lead who enjoys solving complex technical challenges while partnering closely with the Engineering Manager to enable engineers and teams to do their best work. If you're passionate about building scalable software, driving technical excellence, and fostering a high-performing engineering culture, we'd love to hear from you.

About the role

At AutoProff, we believe great technology drives great experiences—and we're just getting started. Our mission is to transform the way vehicles are traded across Europe, and we're looking for an experienced Tech Lead to help shape the technical foundation behind that journey.

You'll join a passionate, cross-functional product squad where engineers, product managers, and designers collaborate to solve meaningful customer problems. As Tech Lead, you'll play a key role in guiding the technical direction of the squad while remaining hands-on in development. You'll also help the team adopt AI-enabled engineering and product development practices responsibly, ensuring AI accelerates delivery while the team maintains ownership, quality, and accountability for the solutions it builds.

We foster a developer-first culture where innovation isn't just encouraged—it's expected. You'll have access to modern AI-powered development tools, participate in hackathons, and collaborate with fellow engineers through internal tech forums where architecture, new technologies, and engineering challenges are openly discussed. We believe the best ideas come from empowered teams that learn, experiment, and grow together.

What you'll be doing

• Lead the technical direction of your product squad while contributing hands-on to software development.
• Guide architectural decisions and promote engineering best practices across the team.
• Build scalable, reliable, and secure software that delivers business value.
• Partner closely with Product Managers to balance technical excellence with business priorities.
• Mentor and support fellow engineers through coaching, knowledge sharing, and technical guidance.
• Collaborate with Engineering Managers, and other Tech Leads to continuously improve our engineering practices.
• Champion AI-enabled software engineering practices, fostering a culture where AI is used to accelerate delivery and innovation, while ensuring the team remains accountable for engineering excellence, product quality, and customer outcomes.

What we're looking for

• Experience as a Tech Lead, or similar technical leadership role.
• Strong software architecture and system design experience.
• Experience building scalable cloud-based (preferably AWS) and distributed systems.
• Experience working with .NET and C#, relational and No-SQL databases
• Familiarity with observability, monitoring, and operational excellence.
• Knowledge of microservices and event-driven systems.
• A passion for software craftsmanship and the judgment to make pragmatic technical decisions that balance maintainability, quality, delivery speed, and business value.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
• Experience mentoring and coaching other engineers.
• A pragmatic and responsible approach to GenAI, understanding its limitations and risks, and actively establishing guardrails (e.g. reviews, testing, and policies) to ensure safe, compliant, and scalable use in production environments.
• Experience working in agile product teams.

We're looking for someone who combines technical expertise with a collaborative mindset and a passion for helping others succeed.
