Senior Software Quality Engineer

The Role

As a Senior Software Quality Engineer, you'll lead testing for complex, high-risk work and help teams find issues early. You'll strengthen test practices, support release readiness, and use customer insights and product health signals to guide improvements.

At Minitab, you'll do more than build software, you'll help transform the future of manufacturing. Every day, the world's leading manufacturers rely on Minitab to increase efficiency, improve quality, reduce waste, and make smarter, data-driven decisions that power better factories and better products. Our smart manufacturing platform connects data across the enterprise to uncover hidden capacity, eliminate bottlenecks, optimize machine performance, simulate improvements before implementation, and accelerate innovation through advanced analytics and experimental design. As part of our team, you'll collaborate with passionate, talented colleagues who are solving meaningful, real-world challenges for global industry leaders. With more than 250,000 users, 30,000 organizations, and 90% of the Fortune 100 trusting Minitab, you'll have the opportunity to make a measurable impact while growing your career in a collaborative, innovative, and customer-focused environment where your ideas matter.

• Engage early in requirements and development to improve clarity, identify risks, and champion testability.
• Lead holistic test strategies across multiple components or integrations, including tests that require broad system understanding and cross-functional coordination.
• Use exploratory and scenario-based testing, customer feedback, and product usage data to identify coverage gaps and evaluate real-world usage.
• Guide risk-based decisions and help prioritize bug fixes and maintenance work.
• Improve test reliability and reduce maintenance overhead. Identify where automation adds value, reduce manual effort, and address outdated or flaky tests that cause CI delays.
• Coordinate release readiness across teams, lead risk assessments, and ensure high-risk areas receive additional scrutiny.
• Analyze quality signals from requirements through post-release, including logs, dashboards, and observability platforms, to identify anomalies, regressions, and patterns of user friction.
• Partner with developers to investigate root causes and define monitoring alerts that can catch future regressions.
• Identify usage data needed for new features or changes and advocate for telemetry early enough to support testing and reporting before production.
• Coach others on test design and coverage, facilitate cross-functional planning, and support debriefs and retrospectives as needed.
