Headout
Bengaluru
🚀 Why Headout?
We’re a rocketship: 9-figure revenue, record growth, and profitable
With $200M+ in revenue, guests in 700+ cities, and 18 months of profitability, Headout is the fastest-growing marketplace in the travel industry, and we’re just getting started. We've raised $60M+ from top-tier investors and are building a durable company for the long term — because that's what our mission needs and deserves. We’re growing, profitable and nowhere near done.
What we do is important
In an increasingly digital world, there is a desperate need to augment our human experience by getting us to interact with the real world around us and the people in it. At Headout, our mission is to be the easiest, fastest, and most delightful way to head out to a real-life experience — from immersive tours to museums to live events and everything in between.
Why now?
The foundation is strong. The opportunity ahead is even bigger. We’ve hit profitability, built momentum, and proven the model — but there’s so much more to build. If you’re looking to join a company where the trajectory is steep and your impact is real, this is the moment.
Our culture
Reinventing the travel industry isn't easy, but that's the fun part. We care deeply about ownership, craft, and impact, and we’re here to do the best work of our careers. We won’t pretend like it’s for everyone but if you’re a builder who loves solving tough problems, you’ll feel right at home.
👩 💻 The role
We are looking for a Senior Associate, Financial Reporting to join our Finance team in Bengaluru. You will own the numbers behind our B2B and distribution business: billing partners, collecting and recording cash across currencies and entities, and closing the books accurately every month. You will work closely with Partnerships, Supply, Marketing and our auditors in a fast-growing global business, and build strong foundations in accounting and financial reporting. This role is based in Bengaluru. We’re looking for candidates who are local or open to relocating.
🤩 What makes this role special?
You won't just be processing transactions. You'll understand the business behind the numbers, own accounting processes, and work on problems end-to-end.
- Own month-end and year-end close, including accruals, provisions, and closing entries.
- Record day-to-day bank transactions across multiple currencies and entities, and trace unidentified or missing receipts.
- Reconcile bank and intercompany balances every month, investigate variances, and drive open items to closure.
- Own B2B billing to distribution partners: raise proforma and tax invoices, manage prepaid wallet balances, and share statements of account.
- Track receivables weekly and monthly, and work with distribution and supply partners to collect funds on time and resolve their queries.
- Ensure GST, TDS and other statutory requirements are applied correctly on invoices and in the books.
- Partner with auditors on statutory, tax and internal audits, including preparing schedules and responding to queries.
- Work with cross-functional teams to determine the right accounting treatment for new business initiatives and non-routine transactions.
- Identify opportunities to automate, simplify and improve finance processes, and see the impact of your work in a high-growth environment.
🎯 What skills & experience do you need?
- CA Inter / semi-qualified CA with 2–3 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, receivables, audit, or controllership.
- Strong accounting fundamentals: journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Hands-on experience with invoicing, receivables, cash application, and bank reconciliations.
- Working knowledge of Ind AS, GST and TDS.
- Comfort with multi-currency transactions (USD, EUR and others) and basic FX concepts.
- Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills. Numbers don't intimidate you; they empower you.
- Clear written communication with partners, banks, and internal teams across time zones.
- A structured, detail-oriented approach, and the ownership to follow things through to closure.
- You don't just want to know what the numbers are. You want to understand why they are what they are.
➕ Bonus
- Articleship or prior experience in statutory audit, financial reporting or controllership, ideally with a Big 4 or large firm.
- Experience in a high-growth startup, travel, technology or marketplace business.
- Exposure to multi-entity accounting, intercompany reconciliations or prepaid / deposit-based partner models.
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Tally or similar.
- An interest in automation, data analysis or using AI to improve finance processes.
