Gatik, the leader in autonomous middle-mile logistics, is revolutionizing the B2B supply chain with its autonomous transportation-as-a-service (ATaaS) solution and prioritizing safe, consistent deliveries while streamlining freight movement by reducing congestion. The company focuses on short-haul, B2B logistics for Fortune 500 retailers and in 2021 launched the world’s first fully driverless commercial transportation service with Walmart. Gatik's Class 3-7 autonomous trucks are commercially deployed across major markets, including Texas, Arkansas, and Ontario, Canada, driving innovation in freight transportation.

The company's proprietary Level 4 autonomous technology, Gatik Carrier™, is custom-built to transport freight safely and efficiently between pick-up and drop-off locations on the middle mile. With robust capabilities in both highway and urban environments, Gatik Carrier™ serves as an all-encompassing solution that integrates advanced software and hardware powering the fleet, facilitating effortless integration into customers' logistics operations.

About the Role

Gatik is looking for a Maintenance Planner to play a pivotal role in maintaining operational excellence, vehicle reliability, and fleet readiness across commercial and R&D operations. In this role, you will lead maintenance activity prioritization, recall and service campaign management, and vehicle logistics orchestration. Reporting to the Director of Fleet and Maintenance Strategy, you will partner closely with commercial, R&D, and transport vendor teams to achieve maximum fleet uptime and operational readiness. You will be instrumental in maintaining strict quality control through Work Order (WO) auditing while driving continuous fleet performance and safety.

This role is remote, but travel is necessary to our sites throughout North America.

What You'll Do

• Set and effectively communicate truck repair priorities based on dynamic schedules and operational requirements for commercial and R&D teams.
• Balance competing operational demands to maximize fleet uptime and strategic availability.
• Optimize base vehicle repair and maintenance scheduling with AV maintenance scheduling and upfits to minimize vehicle downtime.
• Coordinate factory recalls and campaign service initiatives across the entire fleet, authorizing and approving campaigns to ensure regulatory compliance and vehicle safety.
• Coordinate truck moves across manufacturers, build sites, up-fitters, and operational markets, maintaining alignment between transport vendors, regional hubs, and internal stakeholders.
• Schedule maintenance, campaigns, recalls, and updates against bay capacity, specialized tooling, and technician availability.
• Audit completed Work Orders (WOs) for compliance with WO Hygiene and Standards policy, providing feedback to continuous improvement workflows.
• Ensure diagnostic logs, fault codes (DTCs), sensor calibration verifications, and post-repair functional test sign-offs are logged in accordance with DOT, FMCSA, and company policy.

What We're Looking For

• Experience: 3–5+ years in fleet management, logistics, maintenance coordination, or heavy vehicle operations. Experience working with DOT and FMCSA inspection requirements is a plus.
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of fleet maintenance management systems, Work Order workflows, and campaign management. Experience working with Samsara is a plus.
• Prioritization & Scheduling: Proven capability to manage competing operational needs between R&D and commercial operations.
• Communication: Exceptional cross-functional communication and vendor management skills.
• Attention to Detail: Deep commitment to compliance, auditing standards, and policy enforcement.

More about Gatik

Founded in 2017 by experts in autonomous vehicle technology, Gatik has rapidly expanded its presence to Mountain View, Dallas-Fort Worth, Arkansas, and Toronto. As the first and only company to achieve fully driverless middle-mile commercial deliveries, Gatik holds a unique and defensible position in the AV industry, with a clear trajectory toward sustainable growth and profitability.

We have delivered complete, proprietary AV technology - an integration of software and hardware - to enable earlier successes for our clients in constrained Level 4 autonomy. By choosing the middle mile – with defined point-to-point delivery, we have simplified some of the more complex AV challenges, enabling us to achieve full autonomy ahead of competitors. Given extensive knowledge of Gatik’s well-defined, fixed route ODDs and hybrid architecture, we are able to hyper-optimize our models with exponentially less data, establish gate-keeping mechanisms to maintain explainability, and ensure continued safety of the system for unmanned operations.
