Port St. Lucie, Florida

Veterinary Medical & Emergency Center is seeking a compassionate, driven Associate Veterinarian to join our team in Port St. Lucie, Florida — a laid-back, sunny stretch of the Treasure Coast that blends small-town charm with easy access to everything Florida does best. Whether you're a recent DVM graduate or an experienced veterinarian ready for a change, this is a great opportunity to build a rewarding career alongside a dedicated, experienced team.

About the Role

Our hospital provides both comprehensive everyday wellness care and 24/7 emergency and critical care support, giving our veterinarians the opportunity to build lasting relationships with clients while also making a real difference when pets need us most. We have 9 exam rooms, 6 incredibly trained GP veterinarians + additional ER veterinarians and 3 GP vets on shift per day. We are seeking a general practice veterinarian to work 7am-5:30pm with rotating Saturdays. There are NO on call shifts.

Why Port St. Lucie, Florida?

Relocating is a big decision, so here's why so many people fall in love with life on the Treasure Coast:

A little bit of everything, all in one place. Port St. Lucie blends the dining and attractions of a bigger city with the nature and slower pace of a smaller town, all along Florida's scenic Treasure Coast, a stretch of coastline running from Vero Beach to Stuart.

Spring training energy every year. Port St. Lucie is home to Clover Park, the spring training home of the New York Mets, giving baseball fans a front-row seat to the action every year.

A golfer's paradise. With the 54-hole PGA Golf Club and numerous championship courses throughout the city, Port St. Lucie is considered one of Florida's premier golf destinations.

Gorgeous botanical gardens. The Port St. Lucie Botanical Gardens span 21 acres along the St. Lucie River, with shaded walkways, a hibiscus garden, an orchid room, a palm walk, and a butterfly garden that draws hummingbirds along with visitors.

Water adventures around every bend. The St. Lucie River winds 35 miles through the city, offering paddling and fishing right in town, while nearby beaches and the Savannas Preserve State Park add more than 10 miles of hiking and kayaking trails through Florida's natural landscape.

Pet-friendly through and through. From Walton Rocks Beach & Dog Park, a 24-acre dog-friendly beach with fishing and picnic areas, to numerous pet-friendly restaurants and attractions throughout the city, Port St. Lucie fits right in with a career built around caring for animals.

A real sense of community. Neighborhoods like Tradition and St. Lucie West offer walkable town centers, shopping, and dining, with events like the Sunday Green Market, the Taste of Little Italy festival, and the annual Port St. Lucie Seafood Festival bringing the community together throughout the year.

Easy access to more. Port St. Lucie sits conveniently between Orlando and Miami, so bigger-city amenities, airports, and entertainment are all within a comfortable drive, while home stays quiet, sunny, and laid-back.

Real Florida weather, real Florida living. With warm weather most of the year, Port St. Lucie offers the kind of outdoor lifestyle many people move to Florida for in the first place — beach days, boat days, and everything in between.
