About the Alpha Engine Department

The Alpha Engine is responsible for Pure Alpha, Bridgewater’s flagship alpha strategy launched in 1991. Our aim in Pure Alpha is to generate high and consistent returns, uncorrelated to markets and other managers over time. We pursue this by systematically deploying our fundamental understanding of markets and economies to trade long, short, and relative value across roughly 200 liquid public markets.

About Your Role

The Investor Talent team partners with investors across Bridgewater’s investment departments on how the firm identifies, assesses, develops, and compensates its investors, at a time of significant change for the firm. The team is building as it goes, which leaves real room to shape how things run.

The Program Coordinator role is an execution-focused role at the center of how the Investor Talent team runs. You’ll work directly with the team's manager, leads, and senior investors, bringing tight execution and project management skills to translate priorities into practical plans and drive investor programs from planning through delivery. Your book of work will shift with the calendar, with management of the team's operations and programs taking up the majority of your time during peak periods.

We are a nimble, hands-on team where every member contributes to the operational work through to the outcomes that make our programs successful (e.g., attending the events that you help shape and plan). We’re looking for someone who takes pride in getting the details right, follows through reliably, and is equally willing to coordinate calendars, pull ongoing metrics, or improve and own a process. It’s a fast-moving environment with a lot to learn, so curiosity and adaptability will go a long way. Over time, the right person will take on broader project management ownership, improve how our programs run, and manage increasingly complex workstreams.

You will drive the following responsibilities:

• Primary partner in running a tight talent ecosystem: Partner with the team’s manager and leads to understand the broad mission of investor talent, and own coordination at the goal level rather than the task level. In practice, this means owning the calendar, meeting logistics, agendas, and program sessions and materials, and anticipating needs before you’re asked.
• Owner of the team’s management machines: Build, run, and continuously improve the recurring processes that keep the team operating, including review cycles, security, and operations. Keep meetings, follow-ups, and commitments on track across these processes. Own knowledge management across SharePoint, Confluence, and distribution lists, with room to shape how it works and evolves.
• Project manager for key programs: Own day-to-day execution of the summer internship and investor class, from scheduling and communications to materials and events. Translate priorities into clear plans with timelines, owners, and dependencies, and adapt as needs change. Anticipate risks, resolve bottlenecks, and hold stakeholders accountable to their commitments, escalating with sound judgment when needed. Track engagement metrics to assess how well each program is working.
• Key driver of technology and AI to raise team productivity: Use technology and AI to improve how the team works, from automating coordination and communications to streamlining reviews and programs. Proactively look for ways to run things better, and connect the dots across workstreams so improvements spread.

The anticipated onsite requirement for this role is four days per week, primarily at our New York City campus.

Minimum Qualifications

You have a passion for running and improving processes and take pride in making others’ worlds run smoothly. You are proactive and comfortable holding others accountable directly and respectfully, including more senior colleagues.

• 2+ years of experience in coordination, project management, business operations, or a similar role, in a fast-paced, stakeholder-facing environment
• Strong attention to detail and operational discipline, with the ability to prioritize across multiple concurrent workstreams and adapt to ambiguity
• Excellent written and verbal communication with a range of stakeholders
• Ability to work flexible hours as needed, e.g., some evenings or onsite additional days for key program events

About Bridgewater

Bridgewater Associates is a global macro investment firm, founded in 1975, whose mission is to develop a fundamental, cause-and-effect understanding of how markets and economies work—and translate that understanding into insights, returns, and solutions that help the world’s leading institutional investors solve their most important investment challenges.

Over five decades, we have codified our fundamental understanding into a systematic investment process—integrating human judgment with machine intelligence with the goal of applying our thinking consistently, testing it against reality, and continuously improving decision-making over time. We believe this has created a unique platform for applying AI within our process, positioning us at the frontier of integrating technology with investment decision-making.

In financial markets—where reality is constantly evolving and outcomes are uncertain—sustained excellence requires continuous learning and improvement. Our culture—anchored in radical truth and transparency—helps us learn faster.

Our Culture

Bridgewater’s culture is anchored in the pursuit of excellence—tied directly to our mission. In financial markets, where the base case is failure and reality is constantly evolving, winning requires continuous learning and improvement. Truth is our most essential tool for improvement, and transparency helps us get closer to truth because it places many eyes on our decisions, problems, and mistakes. By understanding reality clearly, we can identify the gap between where we are and where we want to be—and use that knowledge to learn and get better. Our system that supports this way of being is an idea meritocracy, where we commit to finding and rewarding the best ideas regardless of hierarchy.

Operating in these ways is hard. Finding truth and learning through it is inherently a high-friction cycle. It’s possible because we share a few core values: a commitment to honesty, high ownership, deeply meaningful work and relationships, and building Bridgewater as a big tent where vast differences are welcomed. These values create the common denominator that binds us together in good times and bad.

Benefits

One of our core priorities at Bridgewater is to enable our employees to build a great life and career, and we believe our benefits are an important extension of that philosophy. As such, currently Bridgewater offers a competitive suite of benefits, including health insurance, retirement benefits, paid leave, and other fringe benefits. Bridgewater reserves the right to change its current benefits program at any time, in a manner that is consistent with applicable federal and state regulations.
