Overview Medical Doctor with cardiovascular surgery experience to lead the CV Surgery Program at Methodist LeBonheur Hospitals (MLH). The role focuses on delivering expert care for heart and blood vessel conditions, managing a high‑volume multidisciplinary team, and ensuring quality clinical care. Responsibilities Provide direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluation, and assessment. Prescribe pharmaceuticals, medications, and treatment regimens appropriate to medical conditions. Refer patients to specialists and coordinate relevant care components. Evaluate prescription needs and consider alternative patient care techniques. Manage daily operations of a specific medical program, patient care unit, or research function. Direct and coordinate patient care activities of nursing and support staff. Follow departmental policies, procedures, quality‑improvement objectives, and safety standards. Participate in health promotion, education, and prevention programs. Explain procedures and discuss test results or treatments with patients and families. Order, perform, and interpret tests; analyze records to diagnose conditions. Maintain accurate documentation within three days of visit or discharge. Coordinate work with nurses, social workers, rehabilitation therapists, pharmacists, psychologists, and other healthcare providers. Provide call coverage for the practice and hospitals. Maintain productivity at acceptable levels. Focus on high patient and family satisfaction and retention. Develop strong partnerships with fellow physicians and support staff. Qualifications MD/DO with experience in cardiovascular surgery. Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for medical care delivery. Knowledge of accreditation and certification requirements. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in the area of expertise. Ability to supervise, advise, and train clinical professionals and students. Knowledge of current principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection‑control standards. Ability to observe, assess, and record patient symptoms, reactions, and progress. Knowledge of relevant drugs and non‑pharmaceutical patient‑care aids; ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients.
