Client Overview Our client is a biotech therapeutics company. This company operates in a GXP environment and relies on advanced analytical techniques to ensure product safety, quality, and compliance. They often emphasize innovation, cross‑functional collaboration, and continuous improvement to bring new therapies from development through commercialization. They are looking to add an Analytical Scientist to their team. Salary / Hourly Rate $50/hr - $65/hr Position Overview The Analytical Scientist is responsible for method development and application of new methods, including chromatographic and mass spectrometry techniques (GC, HPLC/UPLC, LC‑MS), to support product characterization and quality evaluation. The Analytical Scientist partners cross‑functionally to investigate issues, support manufacturing and supply chain needs, and ensure robust analytical performance across development and production. The position also contributes to documentation, regulatory submissions, and continuous improvement of analytical capabilities and processes. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship now or in the future. Responsibilities The Analytical Scientist will develop, optimize, and troubleshoot analytical methods using chromatographic and mass spectrometry techniques, including GC, HPLC/UPLC, and LC‑MS, for product characterization, impurity profiling, and raw material testing. Apply scientific principles to support analytical and process development activities across the product lifecycle. Provide analytical support for cross‑functional investigations related to quality, manufacturing, and supply chain operations. Perform testing and characterization of development‑stage products and their formulations. Author and maintain technical documentation, including method development reports, qualification reports, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Evaluate and implement new analytical methods, including oversight of method qualification and validation at external laboratories. Contribute to regulatory documentation by authoring and reviewing analytical sections. Support laboratory investigations (e.g., deviations, out‑of‑specification or out‑of‑trend results) using sound scientific reasoning. Collaborate across departments and serve as a point of contact for assigned projects or deliverables. Identify opportunities to enhance technical capabilities, improve processes, and increase operational efficiency. Required Experience / Skills Experience in analytical method development, qualification, and troubleshooting using chromatographic systems (GC, HPLC, UPLC) and mass spectrometry (LC‑MS). Strong foundational knowledge in analytical and organic chemistry principles. Ability to interpret complex data and apply problem‑solving skills in a laboratory environment. Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. Candidates must have current authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. Preferred Experience / Skills Hands‑on experience with biomolecules such as oligonucleotides, proteins, or peptides would be ideal for the Analytical Scientist. Familiarity with analytical instrumentation software, including Empower, MassHunter, and UNIFI. Experience supporting regulated environments (e.g., GxP) and understanding of compliance requirements. Knowledge of statistical methods applied in laboratory settings. Experience working with external partners or contract laboratories. Education Requirements PhD with academic experience accepted or an MS with 3 – 6 years of related experience (including academic). A Bachelor of Science candidate will be considered with 7+ years of industry experience.
