Responsibilities Mayo Clinic Health System in Wisconsin is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Infectious Disease physician to join a collegial department. The primary location for this position is in Eau Claire, Wisconsin with outreach to La Crosse, Wisconsin. This opportunity is 100% Infectious disease. The physician will provide patient care in the clinic and hospital settings and participate in the Infection Control and Prevention and Antimicrobial Stewardship activities in the primary site. MCHS in Western Wisconsin is a fully integrated care system and is run by a single governing structure thus helping to facilitate care coordination and patient follow-up. In this setting physicians will: Community practice with academic segment working with family practice residents and other trainees. Opportunity to work with most medical specialties in a setting where you see a wide variety of illnesses and disease states. Provide physician support Infection Prevention and Control initiatives and antimicrobial stewardship activities along with infection preventionists and pharmacist respectively. Hospital Practice: Consultations/Follow ups including use of telehealth technologies for critical access hospitals. There is a large variety of infections: Endocarditis, orthopedic infections, pneumonias, zoonotic diseases, complicated soft tissue infections, endemic mycoses, tick-borne diseases.
