Job Overview Department: AWAMC OB HospitalistsStatus: Part‑timeHours per week: 12Schedule: West Allis OB ED – 1st week: 1 day 230‑1100 pm; 2nd week: 2 days 3‑1100 pm Pay Range: $54.90 – $82.35 per hour Major Responsibilities Assess, diagnose, and determine or alter treatment and management plans appropriate for age, acuity, and clinical condition. This includes ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic studies and prescribing pharmacologic and non‑pharmacologic interventions. Manage conditions based on clinical indication, evidence‑based care, cost‑effectiveness, and assessment of risks/benefits. Provide health promotion, disease prevention, counseling, and education to patients and families. Operate as part of an interdisciplinary team, seeking consultation or referrals and escalating to emergent or specialized care when necessary. Maintain accurate, complete, concise, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record and submit services consistent with compliant coding and billing practices. Facilitate coordinated care and clear communication among all members of the healthcare team and community agencies. Perform office or hospital procedures in accordance with specialty practice, competency, and granted privileges where applicable. Participate in quality, safety, peer‑review initiatives, departmental meetings, committees, and workgroups. Serve on education and onboarding for new team members, students, and other healthcare professionals. Maintain standards of productivity, access, face‑to‑face time, and quality metrics to ensure optimal, safe, and timely patient care delivery. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and twist continuously. Must have functional speech, vision, touch, and hearing. Must lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist, 20 lbs over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance. Must operate all equipment necessary to perform the job. Qualifications License/Registration/Certification: Active RN, APRN/APRN‑FPA/APNP or other APRN license(s) per state of practice.For Wisconsin practice: WI Certified Nurse Midwife license, active national board certification as Certified Nurse Midwife, and active DEA registration prior to hire.For Illinois practice: active Illinois Controlled Substance License prior to hire, and active BLS and/or ACLS, PALS, NRP as required. Education: Master’s Degree in Nursing. Experience: No prior experience required. Knowledge, skills, and abilities: Demonstrated high level of clinical proficiency, excellent decision‑making, independent and team work, adaptability to evolving technology, proficiency with the electronic medical record, excellent communication, relationship building, organizational and prioritization skills.
