St. Luke's Physician will provide high quality, cost effective medical care and participate in quality, patient satisfaction, and performance improvement initiatives. Responsibilities Performs history and physical examination of all patients seen. Provides consultations on all patients as requested by other physicians. Rounds on assigned patients and those requested to be seen in collaboration with an AP as needed. Provides cost effective, high quality care based on best practice evidence‑based medicine. Adheres to standardized orders and practice guidelines approved by the medical staff. Demonstrates competency in assessment, range of treatment, knowledge of growth and development, and communication appropriate to patient age. Provides regular, timely, and appropriate communication with referring physicians, patients, and families. Participates in education of patients and families. Participates in regular meetings of the practice group. Maintains current medical records documentation and responds in a timely manner to chart review requests. Submits timely and accurate billing information. Supervises Advanced Practitioners. Attends appropriate continuing medical education to maintain Pennsylvania/New Jersey licensure. Develops effective working relationships within the hospital and St. Luke’s University Health Network. Maintains confidentiality of materials and proper release of information. Complies with network and departmental policies regarding safety, reporting, attendance, dress code. Demonstrates Network’s Service Excellence Standards in all customer interactions. Participates in performance improvement in clinical care/outcomes, customer/service, operational systems/process, safety. Demonstrates financial responsibility and accountability via effective resource use. Performs duties as assigned and required within specialty area. Other related duties assigned within provider’s specialty or service line. Physical and Sensory Requirements Sitting for up to 5 hours per day; 1 hour at a time. Standing for up to 5 hours per day, 2 hours at a time. Walking for up to 3 hours per day; 1 hour at a time. Fingering and handling small objects frequently. Twisting and turning of hand occasionally. Consistently lift, carry, and push objects up to 10lbs. Occasionally lift, carry and push objects up to 75lbs. Transport patients weighing up to 250lbs via wheelchair or stretcher. Frequently stoop and bend. Frequently reach above shoulder level. Must be able to perceive attributes of an object through touch. Must be able to hear as it relates to normal conversation. Seeing as is related to general, near, far, color and peripheral vision. Education Graduate of an accredited medical school and completion of residency and/or fellowship in area of specialty.
