Lung Transplant Surgeon The Division of Thoracic Surgery in the Department of Surgery at Mass General Brigham seeks a mid-level faculty candidate with interest in lung transplantation and general thoracic surgery to join as an Assistant or Associate Professor. Surgeries will be performed at Brigham & Women's Hospital and the West Roxbury VA Medical Center. Qualifications The successful candidate will have an MD or equivalent, be board-eligible or board-certified in thoracic surgery, have training and experience in lung transplantation, and be eligible for a Massachusetts medical license. Responsibilities Allocate 50% of time to lung transplantation and ECMO care, including harvest, implantation, EVLP, patient evaluation, and perioperative care; the remaining time in general thoracic surgery. Commit to excellence in quality and patient safety, with an interest in performing thoracic surgery robotically. Perform surgeries at Brigham & Women's Hospital and the West Roxbury VA Medical Center, supporting the lung transplant program two days per week. Engage in academic and research activities: seek funding, establish a clinical transplantation research portfolio, and utilize available clinical research infrastructure at the Center for Surgery and Public Health. Actively educate medical students and residents on the transplant service.
