Employment Type: Administration and Professionals Union Position: Non-Union Work Schedule: M-F, 8:30am-5pm Number of Openings: 1 Job Description SUMMARY In collaboration with the Dean, Associate Dean and Program Director peers, oversees and manages the organization, administration, periodic review, planning, development and general effectiveness of the Nursing Education program. ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS Works collaboratively with Program Directors, AdministrativeCoordinator, Compliance Administrator, Program Assistants, College widepeers and additional office staff in all aspects of programmatic duties Interviews, recommends and processes Adjunct faculty for hire Creates and manages the academic and clinical schedule for the Nursing program Prepares courseschedules and makes instructional assignments in collaboration with the Lab Director and Program Managers Collaborates with faculty to manage full time and adjunct facultyworkload, and to determine appropriate clinical affiliate sites eachsemester Works collaboratively with team members to oversee, monitor, maintain and revise the division student database Tracks, advises and admits applicants to the Nursing program Works collaboratively with the lab director and clinicalcoordinators in oversight of clinical adjunct faculty Prepares and presents the Nursing program review to College administration according to the review cycle Prepares data and provides input related to program accreditation, Ohio Board of Nursingannual reports and site visit reports by ensuring standards are met Assembles and leads the nursing advisory board committee meetings Maintains effectivecommunication with prospective applicants, students, graduates, facultyand the community Maintains communication with college and clinical affiliate liaisons to inform, manage and resolve programmatic concerns Markets Nursing programand recruits students Participates indivision, College and professional meetings, activities/events Performs other duties as assigned REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATIONAND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING Master’s degree in nursing Minimum of five years of demonstrated experience as a registered nurse, two years of which have been as a faculty member in a Nursing program Completion of an approved professional nursing education program Current active licensure as a non-restricted registered nurse in Ohio Demonstrated experience supervising, planning, assigning, scheduling and ensuring the quality of the work of others Demonstrated experience effectively making decisions that have major implications on the management and operations within a department Demonstrated effectiveness in a role requiring dynamic and abstract problem-solving methods in adaptive situations KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES Possess comprehensive knowledge of Nursing theories, concepts and practices with the ability to use in complex, difficult and/or unprecedented situations as it pertains to the departmental focus Ability to effectively complete work assignments independently Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with demonstrated attention to detail Ability to be creative and exercise initiative Possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills Possess strong organizational and time-management skills Works accurately with great attention to detail Ability to adjust to changing priorities and respond appropriately to deadlines Proven leadership skills and the ability to promote collaboration, foster a team environment and involve all stakeholders in decision-making processes Demonstrated basic Project Management skills Demonstrated Intermediate-level proficiency with Microsoft: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Ability to confidentially and discreetly handle subject matters requiring privacy and sensitivity Ability to collaborate, persuade and gain cooperation and acceptance of ideas on significant projects Ability to collaborate, negotiate and resolve conflicts on major projects Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key contacts to enhance workflow and quality Possess sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of the community COMPETENCIES CRITICALCOMPETENCIES Communication Service Focus VERYIMPORTANT COMPETENCIES Quality of Work PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATIONAND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING Demonstrated extensive higher education experience PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS The demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. However, there will be walking; standing; bending; stooping; and carrying of various items and equipment; Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite Target Starting Salary Range $80,000 - $90,000/yr The final offer for the successful candidate is targeted to fall within this range but will be based upon an assessment of internal equity, the unit’s available budget, and the candidate’s qualifications in relation to the minimum and/or preferred job requirements.
