Job Summary Trained to provide pain relief and restoration of a stable condition during and immediately after an operation or an obstetric or diagnostic procedure. Also provides medical management and consultation in pain management and critical care medicine. Anesthesiologists diagnose and treat acute, longstanding, and cancer pain problems; diagnose and treat patients with critical illnesses or severe injuries; perform direct resuscitation in the care of patients with cardiac or respiratory emergencies, including the need for artificial ventilation; and supervise post‑anesthesia recovery. Job Duties Anesthesiology Opportunity at Geisinger Lewistown Hospital: a 123‑bed community facility with 6 operating rooms, 3 endoscopy suites, and 1 OB suite. Case mix includes: 35% General Surgery 25% Gastroenterology 25% Orthopedics/Podiatry 15% Gynecology/Obstetrics Ideal for anesthesiologists seeking a manageable case mix in a close‑knit, supportive practice setting. Work hours are flexible with 12 weeks off each year and optional overtime available at $275/hour. Compensation Base Salary: $500,000 – $560,000+ with experience. Annual salary increases.
