Teaching Professor Faculty Position Department of Biological & Biomedical Sciences College of Science & Mathematics Rowan University The Department of Biological & Biomedical Sciences at Rowan University is seeking to hire a non-tenure track Teaching Professor who will serve as Director of the Medical Laboratory Science programming at Rowan University, with an appointment to begin July 1, 2026. The Department of Biological & Biomedical Sciences is specifically interested in candidates with experience teaching in and/or overseeing Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) programs. Applicants must hold ASCP Certification and preference will be given to candidates with familiarity with NAACLS Accreditation and those with both clinical and academic experience. The successful candidate should be passionate about teaching and mentoring students at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Responsibilities Lead programmatic NAACLS accreditation application Teach select courses Advise and recruit MLS students Establish an undergraduate Medical Laboratory Science program and community college partnerships, establishing pipelines into the undergraduate and graduate MLS programs Partner with departmental leadership to ensure appropriate staffing of program courses Participate in professional development to stay current in the field Teaching responsibilities will align with the successful candidate’s areas of expertise. Upon successful accreditation and establishment of the undergraduate program, teaching and administrative responsibilities will increase accordingly. Positions are renewable based on performance reviews and programmatic needs, contingent on deliverables described above including program establishment with sustained enrollment and full accreditation. Qualifications Terminal degree (or its professional equivalent) in a relevant field Non‑tenure track 12‑month, full‑time appointment Experience in MLS programs and/or accreditation ASCP Certification required Experience with NAACLS Accreditation preferred Clinical and academic experience preferred Strong teaching and mentoring skills for undergraduate and graduate students Application Materials Cover letter Current detailed CV Statement describing MLS programmatic experience and vision for MLS programming at Rowan University Graduate transcripts (unofficial copies acceptable for initial review) Names and contact information for at least three references; confidential letters will be requested if an application is moved forward Benefit Information For eligible employees, benefits include comprehensive NJ State health, dental and retirement benefits, extensive accrued time off/paid holidays, and tuition reimbursement for employee, spouse and dependents to attend Rowan University, Glassboro. Salary In compliance with The State of New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is: Associate Teaching Professor: Ranges 28, 30 Assistant Teaching Professor: Ranges 24, 27 Placement within the range determined by candidate's qualifications, professional experience, internal equity, and other factors.
