University of Virginia – Assistant Professor of Medicine, Endocrinology and Metabolism Location Charlottesville, VA Open Date May 21, 2025 Description The University of Virginia School of Medicine, Division of Endocrinology & Metabolism (Department of Medicine), seeks candidates to fill an Assistant Professor of Medicine position on the Tenure‑Ineligible Clinical Faculty Track. The successful candidate will provide clinical care for various endocrine disorders, including bone, mineral, diabetes, thyroid, adrenal, gonadal, and pituitary. Care will be provided primarily at our UVA Endocrinology/Diabetes and local UVA outreach clinics. The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to medical education and a commitment to scholarship and quality improvement. The Division has 32 faculty members, six full professors, eight associate professors, nine assistant professors, eleven nurse practitioners, and nine emeritus professors, and six endocrine fellows. It includes current and former leaders of national professional societies and a tradition of excellence in research, patient care, and education. Qualifications The successful candidate must have an M.D. degree or equivalent with board certification in Internal Medicine and ABIM board‑eligible or certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism by the start of the appointment. Experience in bone disorders will be prioritized.
