Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPosition Summary: The Procurement Manager is responsible for strategic sourcing, demand forecasting and stock balancing duties for assigned locations. Using Netstock as the primary tool you will provide data-driven insights to optimize inventory, reduce stock outs and minimize excess stock.In this position, you will determine what to buy through demand analysis and current inventory levels and how to buy it, through sourcing strategy and vendor management of the inbound flow of inventory. You will be accountable for choosing the lowest landed cost materials that meet quality, lead time, and quantity requirements to support being competitive in order to help branches be successful with their product strategies and profitably serve their customer base.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following, as well as other duties that may be assigned.Identify and select the best suppliers; negotiate pricing, terms, and quality for raw materials, BOM components, and services via OPC processesHandle price negotiations when appropriate or when there is no other corporate contract in place; responsible for expediting when a supplier is late on their delivery commitmentUnderstand Netstock's inventory classifications for stocked items using ABC analysis (based on value) and LMH analysis (based on velocity) to set appropriate inventory policies and safety stock levels for each SKU and warehouse combinationLeverage Netstock's AI-driven forecasting tool to analyze historical sales, identify trends, and anticipate seasonal demand shifts, creating accurate demand forecasts to drive replenishment in the warehouses and Distribution CentersCollaborate with sales and procurement teams to align inventory levels with business goals, new customer demand, and when introducing new productsNegotiate for better terms or cost, participate in and suggest initiatives to lower costs or improve efficiency, such as automation-related initiativesIdentify potential vendor, product, or market disruptions and develop and present appropriate contingency plans to be acted on to prevent shortagesCollaboratively define and monitor service level targets to maximize product availability while reducing excess inventoryMaintain database of lead times, primary vendors, MOQs in SysproAct on daily automated purchase order recommendations from Netstock, manage replenishment schedules and supplier lead times to minimize stock-outs and excess stock.
