Overview A hospital in Iowa is seeking a board-certified physician specializing in clinical cardiac electrophysiology for an ongoing locums assignment. This role includes both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, with coverage needed for 1–2 weeks per month. The schedule runs Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 5 PM, with night and weekend EP call coverage. You’ll see an average of 14 patients per day, split between morning and afternoon clinic. The provider typically rotates between 2–3 days per week in the EP lab. Weekend responsibilities include inpatient rounding and on-call coverage only. Procedures include AF ablations (PVI), AV node ablations, SVT and PVC ablations, as well as device implants such as pacemakers, ICDs, subcutaneous ICDs, micra percutaneous pacemakers, and implantable loop recorders.
