The School Mental Health Project Assistant Clinical Director supports the project and related grants, advancing school-based mental health services and preparing the next generation of professionals. In collaboration with the School Mental Health Project Director, this role provides clinical supervision, training, and program coordination for UACS Social Work Fellows, Social Work Interns, and partner district staff. The Assistant Clinical Director serves as the Field Instructor, ensuring alignment with CSWE competencies and Binghamton University field education standards. This is a 12‑month position; summer months are dedicated to preparation for the next academic year. The assistant reports to the School Mental Health Project Director. Primary Responsibilities Program Leadership & Service Implementation Support implementation of the School Mental Health Project. Monitor project timelines, service deliverables, and program milestones. Assist in operational planning and problem‑solving to strengthen implementation and continuous quality improvement. Collaborate with Site Supervisors to support strong program implementation and coordinated student support within partner schools. Clinical Supervision & Field Instruction Provide one hour of weekly individual clinical supervision to UACS Social Work Interns. Guide interns in developing competencies aligned with CSWE core competencies. Support interns in identifying practice behaviors and learning opportunities in school settings. Partner with Site Supervisors to ensure coordinated supervision and consistent expectations. Facilitate reflective practice connecting coursework to field experience and in‑service seminars. Participate in liaison meetings with the field office, Site Supervisors, and interns. Support interns in navigating challenges and developing action plans when needed. Complete field education documentation and evaluation processes in online systems. Monitor intern field hours and approve time logs. Foster interns' professional identity and interest in school mental health careers. Training & Professional Development Support the development of interns through structured training, learning communities, and skill‑building opportunities. Assist in planning and facilitating orientation, Prep Academy, and monthly in‑service training. Collaborate with the Project Director to develop training curriculum and an annual training calendar. Identify emerging training needs for interns and Site Supervisors. Participate in structured professional learning communities and cross‑site consultation to refine practice and strengthen implementation. Build expertise in areas including UACS, family engagement, trauma‑informed practice, suicide prevention, and restorative practices. Requirements Master's degree in Social Work with minimum two years of post‑MSW practice experience. Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW). Experience supervising social work interns. Experience working in or partnering with school communities. Demonstrated knowledge of CSWE competencies and social work field education standards. Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license to operate a vehicle in NYS. Preferred Qualifications Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Experience providing clinical supervision. Experience working in school‑based mental health or community schools. Knowledge of school‑based mental health and community school approaches. Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary school teams. Experience implementing MTSS or school‑wide mental health initiatives. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
