Director- Psychiatry Nursing Position Description: Directs, plans, coordinates and supervises the operation and activities of a specialized unit or small department; develops and implements policies and procedures, administers the budget, organizes tasks and sets priorities. Requisition ID: 44032BR Travel Required: Up to 25% Pay Grade Maximum: $86,00.00 Pay Grade Minimum: $52,967.00 Pay Basis: Monthly Work Location: Lubbock Major/Essential Functions Oversees our Head Nurse, CNAs, MAs and Student Assistants across the entire department. Engaged in promoting and facilitating Nursing. Works collaboratively with all directors and administrators to promote patient safety and evidence-based practice to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Functions within the legal scope of practice and in accordance with the policies and procedures of the organization and practice setting. Supports the vision, mission, values and key performance indicators of Texas Tech Physicians. Adheres to institutional and departmental safety policies and procedures. Supervises a team of Sr. Clinical Assistants working with child, adolescent, and perinatal mental health. May assist in treatment planning for patients and families. Collaborates with Risk Management to report, develop, and establish Patient Safety Initiatives. Acts as an agent of change to identify opportunities to improve clinical and operational processes, resolve problems and evaluate the effectiveness of change. Collaborates with the Director of Patient Services to ensure patients satisfaction and resolution of concerns that are clinical, involve TTPL/UMC coordination of services. Willingly participates in any activities which promote and improve TTUHSC. Recruit, manage and oversee all aspects of chart review for the Psychiatry Department for both RHC and Adult Clinic. Ensures that KPIs of TTPL are communicated to all employees, particularly nursing, and strives to meet or exceed targets. Facilitates and/or attends nursing meetings for TTP representing Department of Psychiatry. Engages in development, approval and standardization of related psychiatry nursing policies. Provide support and consultative services to Department of Psychiatry and Central Department on preparing of Joint Commission. Provides for smooth day-to-day flow of communications within the programs. Prepares and organizes training materials and curriculum as necessary. Preferred Qualifications RN having held current active license over 1 year. Preferred BSN. Experience in mental health nurse related service. Previous experience in Nursing Administration. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related area plus five years of progressively responsible management experience OR a combination of education and/or years of experience in management to equal a minimum of 9 years.
