Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Emergency Medicine Location: Phoenix, AZ Shift: Mon-Fri, Sat, Sun, (Days Vary), Shifts Vary, 8am-5pm Phoenix Children’s is Arizona’s top-ranked children’s hospital and is considered a regional hub throughout the Southwest. With 533 licensed beds and more than 1,200 employed/affiliated physicians, we’re on the cusp of becoming one of the largest children’s health systems in the country. We are expanding our Urgent Care (UC) coverage and are seeking experienced Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to work primarily in UC or in a hybrid model of UC and low-acuity ED shifts. Providers will evaluate and provide evidence-based treatment to pediatric patients within their scope of practice under the Medical Director’s supervision. The Urgent Care sites can perform plain radiographs, and routine labs include urinalysis, blood sugars, rapid strep tests, and rapid flu tests during winter months. In this role you will assess and treat acute injury and illness, perform procedural care such as abscess drainage, foreign body removal, and laceration repair (with sutures, staples, and dermal adhesive), and focus on efficiency metrics to improve urgent care flow, patient experience, and throughput.
