Chief Purpose of this position Chief Purpose of this position: This position will have arole expanding patient access to cutting-edge treatments includingclinical trials in VCU Health’s Cellular Immunotherapies andTransplant Program. Duties & Responsibilities Teaching | Trains medical students, residents and fellows while inthe clinic. Expected to actively participate in providing researchopportunities to fellows. Mentors junior faculty. Research | Participates and engages other members of the Massey Cancer Center and the Department of Internal Medicine incollaborative research projects. Stays up to date on the clinicaltrial menu offered through the Massey Cancer Center and educatespatients on their options for treatment on clinical trials. Service | Participate in program tumor boards, Quality Assuranceand Improvement activities and meetings, and in ad hoc programproject endeavors as directed by the Medical Director. Help to give relevant teaching sessions to the APP in the CIT program. Clinical | Attends on the inpatient Bone Marrow Transplant Unit,and sees patients in the outpatient clinic for consults,post-transplant care and in long term survivorship.
