Job Summary Healthcare Scheduler – coordinates scheduling, authorizations, insurance verification, and payment expectations across Banner Health’s system to ensure an exceptional patient experience. Position Details Location: Banner Health Center Plus - 7701 W Aspera Blvd, Glendale, AZSchedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm Responsibilities Schedule medical appointments by coordinating patients, providers, facility resources, ancillary staff, records, referrals, authorizations, and payers. Effectively schedule appointments, tests, and procedures using electronic medical record/scheduling software according to clinical staff protocols. Obtain patient demographics, insurance information, and necessary documentation for authorizations, referrals, and other data as required. Provide patients with information, pre‑ and post‑test instructions, appointment location, directions, and payment expectations. Communicate and build relationships with patients, facilities, and providers through phone, chat, email, electronic messaging, and other digital channels. Capture, label, store, and manage scanned documents and physician office orders in the imaging software system. Where applicable, collect pre‑payments and verify insurance coverage to prevent surprises. Handle inbound and outbound customer and staff communications for all facilities, working with various departments and staff to provide accurate managed‑care information. Core Skills & Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Minimum 1 year of customer‑service or related experience in a healthcare setting (medical office, clinic, hospital scheduling). Demonstrated ability to provide essential customer service in a high‑paced inbound contact‑center environment. Proficiency with technology tools to research and obtain accurate information via calls, emails, and instant messaging. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to follow written and oral directions. Strong organizational and time‑management skills; accurate keyboarding and use of common office software. Teamwork skills and ability to meet deadlines and productivity standards. Preferred Qualifications Experience in an inbound call center or scheduler in a practice‑management environment. Knowledge of payer contract terms and processes. Familiarity with medical terminology.
