Department/Unit: Cytopathology Work Shift: Per Diem (United States of America) Salary Range: $65,102.17 - $100,908.37 YOU MUST HAVE AN ASCP CT LICENSE AND A NYS LICENSE FOR THIS JOB A Cytotechnologist utilizes knowledge and anatomical laboratory experience to perform analyses of cytopathology specimens accurately and in a timely manner. The role involves aiding clinicians in disease detection, diagnosis, and monitoring treatment progress. This position requires independent judgment and responsibility, working under supervision of the director or NYSED licensed supervisor in Cytology/Cytopathology. Performs testing and reports results on laboratory specimens Accurately documents test results and quality control Uses applicable computer systems effectively Communicates well, takes direction, and engages interactively with others Meets diagnostic performance guidelines established by the medical director Prepares cytologic specimens for analysis to aid in diagnosis and monitoring Performs maintenance and quality control procedures Enters specimen information accurately and verifies patient demographics Possesses ability to train new staff, cytotechnicians, students, and residents Thank you for your interest in Albany Medical Center!
