Summary Under the general direction of the Nurse Manager, the Specialty Clinical Leader is responsible for the day‑to‑day oversight of clinical operations and staff, ensuring quality patient care, access, and department goals are met and sustained. The role supervises staff, elevates issues, facilitates patient and employee engagement, maintains policies and protocols, assists with budget and payroll, and supports clinical services through direct patient care. Education Four years of formal training or education beyond high school (e.g., Bachelor’s Degree) preferred. Certification, Registration & Licensure Active Registered Nurse license through the NewHampshire Board of Nursing. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications as indicated for specialty. Experience Minimum five years as a Registered Nurse. Minimum one year in a leadership or supervisory role. Demonstrated ability to utilize the nursing process in clinical/management settings. Pre‑operative/PACU and/or critical care experience strongly preferred. Schedule Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. Responsibilities Supervise clinical staff, including nurses and Licensed Nursing Assistants. Recruit, retain, and manage performance of the team. Supervise daily activities of the department and provide on‑site leadership. Ensure proper scheduling and coverage. Create, implement, and maintain financial performance efficiency and productivity targets. Develop and implement clinical protocols and workflows, monitoring compliance with DNV, OSHA, CLIA, and other regulatory bodies. Ensure competency, education, training, growth, and development of staff. Manage general onboarding and orientation activities and document communications. Conduct annual performance evaluations of staff in collaboration with the Manager. Maintain customer relations and handle service recovery. Maintain an account of staff attendance and reliability. Establish positive working relationships with providers and other leadership teams. Demonstrate high professionalism toward patients, providers, staff, peers, and administrators. Ensure effective and timely communication. Take responsibility for individual performance goals. Perform other clinical and managerial duties as defined in collaboration with Manager and Director.
