Job Overview The Division of Infectious Diseases in the Department of Medicine at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC), a major teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School (HMS), seeks a BC/BE infectious diseases physician at the Instructor or Assistant Professor level for a full‑time clinical position. The physician will provide care to general ID patients and patients with orthopedic‑related infections. This position requires a clinician and educator who will serve at New England Baptist Hospital, seeing patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings, and delivering specialized multidisciplinary musculoskeletal/bone and joint care alongside general ID consultations. Responsibilities The physician will: provide clinical care to ID patients; perform orthopedic‑related infection management; educate students, residents, and fellows; participate in the robust outpatient practice, including the OPAT program; and contribute to the division’s strong basic and clinical research mission. Work Setting The role is based at BIDMC, a 743‑bed Level 1 Trauma Center and a founding member of Beth Israel Lahey Health. The physician will collaborate with 30 full‑time members of the Division of Infectious Diseases, all with academic appointments at Harvard Medical School. Compensation and Benefits Pay Range: $164,000 - $332,000. Compensation will depend on factors such as academic appointment, work experience, specialty training, geographic location, anticipated productivity, and role expectations. The position may qualify for performance‑based incentives.
