What You Will Do Ascension Wisconsin is looking for a Board Certified/Board Eligible Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Physician for our Hospitalist team as a Nocturnist. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension Wisconsin to provide medical services to patients. POSITION HIGHLIGHTS Join a well-established practice consisting of Day Hospitalists, Nocturnists, Day APNPs and Nocturnist PAs Hours - 7on/7off, 6pm-6am, 144 Shifts Semi-closed ICU Must be Board Eligible/Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine, Hospitalist experience is preferred Generous benefits and great retirement package Competitive compensation, 2.5% quality metric yearly bonus, and seniority bonus RESPONSIBILITIES Work with a team that is experienced, and enjoys working in a strong team atmosphere Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills Respond to all code blue and rapid response calls; ability to perform procedures if you desire, but not required Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients Accepts patient referrals from other physicians. Acts as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital Participates in academic programs (e.g. medical education and research) as requested Provides appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner Participates in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules FACILITY Work with a close-knit team that is experienced and has strong team atmosphere St Elizabeth Hospital is newly renovated with a state of the art 90-bed patient tower Full complement of sub-specialists on staff (Cardiology, Pulmonary/Critical Care, Gastroenterology, Renal, Surgical) Hospitalist Team has a supportive nursing/administrative team Average admission per night: 8 What You Will Need Licensure / Certification / Registration: One or more of the following required: Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
