Medical Laboratory Scientist Work location: Texas Health Dallas, 8200 Walnut Hill Lane, Dallas, Texas 75231. Work hours: Full-time (40 hours/week) – 1:00pm-9:30pm with alternating weekends. What You Need (Qualifications) Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Applied Technology, Clinical Lab Science, or Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science (preferred). Internship in an approved Medical Technology training program (required). 2 years in a Medical Laboratory (preferred). One year of hospital experience (preferred). Licensed MT (ASCP) – Medical Technologist within 6 months required, or MLS (ASCP) or other AMT, AAB, HHS, NCA, HEW, CLS‑CA, FL, NY state license, Philippine Board of Technical Technology upon hire required, or M(ASCP) – Microbiology if working in Microbiology upon hire required, or BB (ASCP) – Blood Banking if working in Blood Bank upon hire required. What You Will Do Evaluate and solve problems related to collection and/or processing of specimens, maintaining specimen integrity throughout the testing process. Facilitate workflow processes. Check outstanding tests list in a timely manner. Troubleshoot and follow through on outstanding tests that have not been collected/received when expected. Use computer downtime procedures as needed when the computer is not available. Help other hospital and laboratory coworkers to provide timely patient care.
