Qualifications Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree (VMD) from an AVMA-accredited college or university. Active state license in good standing, or currently pursuing licensure. Current DEA license in good standing, or willing to obtain. A commitment to veterinary excellence and upholding the Principles of Veterinary Medical Ethics. Proven leadership experience, typically overseeing medical operations. Advanced clinical experience in specialty medicine, or experience working within a specialty or referral hospital setting. Board certification, residency training, or extensive specialty hospital leadership experience may be preferred depending on the needs of the hospital.
