The DON will oversee the nursing department, ensuring delivery of high-quality care, staff management, regulatory compliance, and a commitment to excellence. This is a key leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced skilled nursing environment and has a passion for mentoring clinical teams. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the nursing department to ensure quality care and regulatory compliance. Hire, train, and retain qualified nursing staff in accordance with staffing guidelines. Maintain clinical policies and procedures that align with corporate and DOH standards. Oversee staff competencies, performance evaluations, and continuing education. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to drive optimal patient outcomes. Handle grievances, promote resident rights, and ensure a safe, welcoming environment. Monitor and manage the department’s budget and resource utilization. Qualifications Active CT RN license, in good standing. Minimum 2 years of nursing leadership experience in long-term care or skilled nursing. Knowledge of DPH regulations, CMS standards, infection control, risk management, and QA/QI initiatives.
