Job Title: Oncologist Veterinarian Department: DVMs Reports To: Hospital Administrator Status: Exempt Salary Wage Range: $175,000-$225,000 with a Sign-On Bonus up to $75,000 Job Description Updated: 8/12/2025 Position Summary Orchard Park Veterinary Medical Center (OPVMC) is seeking a Board-Certified or Residency-Trained Veterinary Oncologist to join our expanding specialty team. This is an exciting opportunity to grow and shape our oncology services within a privately owned, collaborative, 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital located just outside Buffalo, NY. You’ll have the freedom to manage a personalized caseload with the support of experienced colleagues, advanced diagnostics, and a compassionate, skilled nursing staff. Essential Functions Provide comprehensive oncologic care, including diagnostics, staging, treatment planning, and follow-up care Perform cytologic evaluations, interpret diagnostic imaging, and develop personalized chemotherapy or rescue protocols Collaborate with internal medicine, surgery, and emergency teams to provide integrated, multidisciplinary care Communicate with clients and referring veterinarians in a clear, compassionate, and informative manner Offer end-of-life counseling and palliative care when appropriate, ensuring a humane and supportive experience Contribute to the continued development of our oncology service and its protocols Participate in educational opportunities, case rounds, and ongoing clinical improvement initiatives.
