Job Overview OptumInsight improves the flow of health data and information, connecting care providers, payers, and consumers. The VP, Value Based Care (VBC) will be responsible for developing and deploying innovative products that simplify healthcare experiences across payers, providers, and consumers. Primary Responsibilities Define and champion a unified product vision, strategy, and multi‑year roadmap aligned with growth objectives and market positioning. Drive disruptive innovation and incubate net‑new products, platforms, and business models creating new revenue streams. Lead design and delivery of AI‑first, technology‑enabled products that address complex healthcare challenges across payer, provider, and consumer segments. Establish success metrics, roadmaps, and outcome‑based KPIs to ensure measurable business value and customer satisfaction. Formulate and execute go‑to‑market strategies, identifying opportunities for new clients, markets, and service offerings. Serve as a thought leader and trusted advisor, translating market insights into actionable product strategies. Partner with engineering and technology teams to deliver high‑velocity product enhancements using agile methodologies. Own product performance, operational health, and customer outcomes post‑launch. Own and grow a significant product P&L, delivering against revenue, IOI, and profitability targets. Partner with line‑of‑business leaders to define and manage multi‑year investment roadmaps and ensure ROI validation. Build, lead, and scale a world‑class product team, fostering a high‑performance, innovation‑driven culture. Qualifications 15+ years of experience launching large‑scale product innovations in healthcare. Proven analysis of complex market opportunities and development of creative solutions. Track record of collaborating, engaging, and driving growth opportunities. Experience leading and growing the P&L of a solutions business in healthcare or technology. Visionary thinking with ability to translate business strategies for competitive advantage. Leadership experience as an innovative thought leader and business partner to executives across multiple units. Authority to develop solutions based on business environment, competitive landscape, and company objectives. Experience managing high‑performing leaders for ideation and incubation initiatives. Experience motivating, developing, coaching, and guiding people in a matrixed organization. Experience managing a globally distributed team. Preferred Qualifications MBA / Master’s degree. Experience supporting payers, employers, providers, and federal/state government clients. Experience working across UHG, Optum, and UHC lines of business. Understanding of fintech and healthcare landscape. Benefits The salary for this role will range from $225,000 to $375,000 annually. Benefits include a comprehensive package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase, and a 401(k) contribution. Benefits are subject to eligibility requirements and local labor market factors. Employee Flexibility Remote work is available from anywhere within the U.S. with a hybrid schedule for in‑office days in MN/DC (four days per week).
