POSITION OVERVIEWSid Jacobson JCC is seeking a skilled and strategic Public Relations Freelancer to support organizational visibility, storytelling, media relations, and communications initiatives across a wide range of programs, services, and events.The ideal candidate is a strong writer and communicator with experience in nonprofit, community-based, lifestyle, education, healthcare, or mission-driven organizations. This individual should be able to think strategically, work collaboratively, and identify meaningful opportunities to elevate the organization's voice and impact across local and regional media platforms.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop and execute public relations strategies that support organizational goals, programs, initiatives, events, and leadership visibilityDraft press releases, media advisories, talking points, statements, pitches, executive messaging, and other communications materialsCultivate and maintain relationships with local, regional, and relevant industry media contactsIdentify proactive opportunities that highlight the organization's mission, impact, programs, and leadershipCoordinate media outreach and pitching efforts for events, announcements, milestones, partnerships, and thought leadership opportunitiesProvide strategic communications counsel and messaging support on sensitive or time-sensitive matters as neededCollaborate closely with the marketing team to ensure consistency in messaging, branding, and organizational voiceAssist with interview preparation, media coordination, and executive communications supportMonitor media coverage and provide reporting, insights, and recommendations when applicableStay informed on evolving media trends, communications best practices, and issues impacting the nonprofit and Jewish communal landscapeAbility to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and evolving priorities in a fast-paced environmentOccasional availability for expedited or time-sensitive communications support is preferredHourly Rate: $50-100/hr, dependent on experience, project scope, and skill levelQUALIFICATIONSProven experience in public and media relations media relationsExceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skillsStrong understanding of media outreach, storytelling, and reputation managementExperience supporting nonprofit, community-based or mission-driven organizations preferredAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams and stakeholdersExisting media relationships in the Long Island market preferred Compensation details: 50-100 Hourly WagePI9c3d637747a1-4899
